1pkt. what would you do from here?

Well this is what happens when stupid streetplayers try to play 1 hole. Top left pocket is mine and I was left this.

START(
%AN7O5%BL7P8%CJ5O4%DL7N1%EM7P1%FK6P1%GF8G7%HM7N8%IL7O4%JJ0D2
%KF1V5%LC7P6%MJ6Q2%NG5S8%OD6F7%PC8E4%WE8D2%XD4E1%Ya8Z4%ZG0C5
)END

The lines show what I did. I couldn't come up with anything better...even knowing he'd just move my ball and stick me in the same spot again - this time possibly froze up. Should I have shot the 3 rail since he would've just moved that ball or the low one on the next move anyways?

thanks

You could bank the 1 ball 1 rail straight back, I believe that is the one ball that is just off of the top rail (the blue ball), and just float the cue to where you did when you shot it or up to the end rail. The second shot would be to bank that same ball, the ball on the top rail, three rails and just put it back in the same spot or make the ball, and send the cueball to basically the same place or to the end rail. The one rail straight back is probably the easiest because you can get the cue ball to the end rail and leave the person either a tough safe or a tough shot.

Just a thought

This might have been what I would have tried in that situation.

START(
%AN7O5%BL7P8%CJ5O4%DL7N1%EM7P1%FK6P1%GF8G7%HM7N8%IL7O4%JJ0D2
%KF1V5%LC7P6%MJ6Q2%NG5S8%OD6F7%PC8E4%UL7L5%VJ5C2%WI3E4%XD6E3
%Yr6J0%ZI9E2%[Q4Z8%\r9J5%]H7X2%^P2Z9%eC3`5
)END

Hope I posted this diagram right.

In my opinion, the intentional foul you took may have gotten you stuffed under the 15 ball again by shooting the 10 with high left. I also gives your opponent the ability or option to try to tear out all of the balls in your hole (maybe slopping a ball in his hole) by shooting straight at the 10 with a stop shot.

If you can see the ball as shown then this is a much better shot:

START(
%AN7O5%BL7P8%CJ5O4%DL7N1%EM7P1%FK6P1%GF8G7%HM7N8%IL7O4%JJ0D2
%KF1V5%LC7P6%MJ6Q2%NG5S8%OD6F7%PC8E4%WH8E0%XD4E1%Yq6P6%ZJ6D9
%[G6Y7%\J7[0%]L7Z8%^r5Q5
)END

If you can't see the right side of the ball then you might want to bank it back down toward your hole and use extreme right english to send the cue ball to the top rail.

If you could, tap the CB to the 15/rail. If not, don't be afraid to take a foul and do as others have posted....that's probably what I would've done...

It would leave a tough shot but would not leave a tough safe, it would be very easy to go off the ball on the spot and put him behind the balls by his pocket again while moving more balls toward his pocket.

Take a foul and leave the cue glued to the four...

The 10 is his only hope, but I don't believe it will bank for him.

I don't think your solution is too bad.

Here's a good fantasy:

Doing as you suggested, I believe would just get him stuck under the 15 ball again off of the 10 ball

In my humble opinion the foul shot is the last option here unless you foul down to the end rail. I you just play up behind one of the balls it leaves you open to the same shot right back at you. Depending on if you are playing three fouls or not you could get on two and then end up having to sell out the shots anyway. And I know I already mentioned the 1 rail bank but that is the shot because you also have two helper balls in case you don't get all the way back to the hole, they could help the ball into the hole. And anybody that says the one rail dosen't go is crazy because that is almost a perfect place to shoot it, the cue puts the english on the ball all you have to do is get the cueball to a safe spot which is pretty easy from there. And the one rail bank from that spot goes even if the ball is almost frozen to the rail.

You definitely should have shot the 3-railer. It was your only hope.

Yeah that's exactly what happened after I took the foul. He just popped out the 10 and froze me to the 15 again. I ended up taking another foul and banking the cue ball to the end of the long rail and then regrouping.

I was thinking about the shot you described, but honestly, I don't move good enough to execute it with low risk. I was afraid I'd sellout the rack if I screwed it up. I think I should practice this shot though...it seems to comes up a lot...specially when I break bad or screwup position :/

could you please diagram your shot? not sure I'm following you..

That would be the game losing shot.

Yeah I think this would've probably been the right shot...especially with the helpers. I'd have had a good chance of leaving a ball right in front of my hole and putting him at the end of the table...and at least change the momentum a bit.

I would've tried to leave him this:

%KF1V5%LC7P6%MJ6Q2%NG5S8%OD6F7%Qc0_1
)END
There is nothing he can do from there. ;)

But, seriously...I like the 3-railer. Depending on the angle, you can go up-table or stick whitey in the stack.

Comin' out tonite?

I like the 3-railer, too. Skimming the 10 and going up an back doesn't look too bad, either...as long as you're 100% sure there's no kiss.

Seems like you've been playing a lot of 1P lately.
