1st 2 days of the tour. Hectic :)

Mark,
Keep the details coming:thumbup:
Very few of us will ever be able to experience this on our own. You are our eyes and ears.
If someone is bored by this, I'm sorry for them.
Thommy, you got it. I will try to add more details.

Love reading the updates. Can't wait for the San Ramon exhibition. I guess I'll have to get there early and plan to stay late ;)

Yes keep it up mark. You are a good story teller and I enjoy the play by play action of your road tours.

We all met at 7pm in the lobby and headed over to "Walt's Pourhouse" This place kind of threw us for a loop. As we walked in there was a nice round of applause from the people who were in attendance, we didn't break any gate records here but had more of a turn out than I thought we would have. All the seat were filled and some more had been created at a raised level tom the side. Also a number of people were standing around the other pool table that was by the show table. As we looked around and thought about the noise level and the distance were from from the spectators. It was gonna be hard to be heard and make the show as good as it usually is. Also we had no Mic and to add there were other patrons of the bar toward the back of the room who had no interest in pool or our little show and were jusy having a good time and a little loud. Nothing we can do about that really and nothing wrong with what they were doing, this was just a fact of the situation we were in. As the time passed the people who were not there for the show were just there for dinner or drinks after work and they began to slowly leave and the music box was turned down and so that really helped but still wasn't easy to be heard. Everyone seemed to understand the situation and were very understanding and patient. So as it quietened down we got to work andthe show wasn't the best but it wasstill very good and still the best pool and billiards show out there.

I spoke about a gentleman who's birthday it was, well I introduced him while doing the opening announcements and a cheer went up (Guessing he is a popular guy in these parts.) and simultaniously everyone burst into happy birthday. We gave him a signed cueball from Johnny and Nick just a small gift from us and got him involved with the show as much as possible. His name is Mel and he was a great guy, as were everyone there. We had a great time and think they did too. I have to give a special thanks to Rick Tilletts, he is another great guy who has helped up with our visit to Coos Bay every step.
We have the clinic tonight 6pm to 10pm also at Walts Pourhouse. So we can relax today and it would be a great day to just lounge around the hotel and take naps etc as we get really busy again in the morning. However this is such a cool little town with little things to do that I think it would be a waste to miss going out and seeing the place. Johnny I think will want to go out and see some sights and I know that Nick and I will be looking to find the best experience for the seafood side of town:) I heard there is a place here where you can go out on boat and get your own crab and then bring it in and they cook it for you right there outside on the dock. Sounds cool to me I am sure that Nick would be all over that too. I just got to find the place. The weather here today is gloomy though, overcast and looks like it could rain at any moment. Its still only 10.15here so maybe if the sun comes out it will burn off some cloud and brighten up.

I will be back to update.

Fisherman's Wharf is where you can rent crab pots and they'll cook up whatever you get. Thing is, sometimes it takes a bit, so you'd probably be better off just finding something fresh and already caught(they should have live crab around there). ;) Well, that's the place Yahoo told me, the rest I'm adding from experience. Next time through, I'll cook you guys something and send you off with leftovers. This time, all of the stars were out of alignment, though it sounds that's the luck you usually have in Portland. And you can count me down for the clinic next time - I'll be setting aside my money in advance.

Thanks, I look forward to it.

As I keep saying the clinic starts at 6pm. Leaving around 5.30pm as its just a mile from where we are. Will update after.

Mark it was awesome to meet you, JA (although he took off to the uhm movies) and Nick on Saturday. I know for a fact that Paulie is still stoked that you guys stopped by and hung out for a while. I must say that the earlier posts about a reality show needs to be done, someone call the Discovery channel and lets get it done. It was incredibly nice of you all to stop and show support to some local guys. Often when you meet someone that you look up to the experience is nothing like you envisioned it would be. I was and still am pleasantly surprised that you all are very down to earth and great people. I am letting you know that there is a sub ready and waiting for you whenever you guys come back through town. I accidently ran across this blog, but am glad that I did. I will be reading all of the antics and look forward to it. I must say that you took the love tap to the joy sack from JA much better than I would have >>smiles<<

It was great to meet you too, as we left we said how nice everyone was and welcoming. Thank you for making all of us fee that way. I say all of us and of course JA and Nicky are the stars but I also felt welcome.

As far as the love tap I am luck y that my massive C*&%k got in the way so it didn't hurt at all :) Hope I don't get banned for that. Thansk for your support and hope to see you again next time around.
Mark

A big thank you!!!

To Mark, Johnny and Nick for stopping here in Coos Bay and sharing so much with us. In spite of the fact we only provided about half the things on Nick's "minimum requirements" list to do a show he performed great. Our crowd was pretty small but JA assured me he's seen a lot worse. Not sure I believe him. These people are first class gentlemen and really make you feel comfortable around them in spite of their larger than life pool personas. The clinic was excellent. Not a lot of chances for us out in podunk America to ask anything and everything from living legends. Mark is still looking for some chick named "Wendy" he's convinced wants to hook up with him from here. We'll check with her later about his Massive Johnson comment:smile: Don't miss these guys if you get the chance!

The guys in Coos Bay,OR

The Stewart family wanted to send out a BIG THANKS to Mark and the boys for making my Husband's / Father 65th birthday a memorable one. :D

What a class act to come into our small town of Coos Bay, OR. Not very many pro's stop in and it was a pleasure to meet Johnny Archer and Nick Varner.

They put on an educational and entertaining show. They are true professionals and gentlemen of the game of pool.

P.S Mark, you made us feel like royalty! Many thanks.

:smile::thumbup::D

Thanks

Ok, Metmot. Let me see how do I respond to that. First thank you for your kind words and support. It was great to meet all of you here in Coos Bay.

Secondly, There is a Wendy who is actually going to be in Willow Creek she posted in this thread, I just got the wrong town I guess. Neither Wendy or myself have any intention of "Hooking up" She is an Azer and has been following the tour and so I would just like to meet her and say hi. As I have said before I like to meet fellow Azers. I feel I have to clarify that for no other reason than "I don't want Wendy or anyone else thinking I was saying anything like that about them. I know you are just kidding, I also know you are a funny trouble causer. I can see you laughing now thinking about me having to explain myself.
Anyway, its 8am here in Coos Bay and we have a few hours to drive before we hit Eureka. We will be leaving with any lick in about 30 mins so I have to pack, its been great here in Coos Bay and all the people including Metmot have been wonderful :) I with the weather was a little better but hey you can't have everything all the time. Off to the lasnd of the Bigfoot and Pot.

Well thank you also for the kind words it is appreciated, the more people enjoy the show and let it be known the easier it will be for us to go to other towns. We all enjoyed your company and hope to see you again next time around. Glad you all had a good B-Day party :)

Sorry Mark you know I was just ribbing you. If I knew there was a real Wendy on your next stop I wouldn't have posted anything like that at all. Sorry too Wendy, I hope you know I meant no offense. It's just Mark was asking and we had no clue who he meant so we kidded him a bit. He never implied anything about hooking up with anyone, that's just me. Just like the two he's travelling with and unlike myself, Mark is a perfect gentleman. Again thanks for the great time tour guys!

Thanks John, I would have felt bad if she thought I was saying those kind of things.

Anyway, we took the scenic route again today and went through the redwoods on the way to Willow Creek. Nick has been so excited about seeing the redwoods since before we left to start the tour and so JA and myself put up little fuss so as to keep Nick Happy. We actually wanted to see them too but Nick was really looking forward to it.

Nick was so excited that the first chance we got to stop at the side of the road he pulled over and jumped out with his camera, left the door open and ran across the street to where he had seen somthing of interest. JA was in the passenger seat and I jumped out too to take some video. Then I hear JA yellingg "MARK! GET OVER HERE! HE LEFT IT IN NEUTRAL" So I runback and JA is leaning across holding the wheel. I jump in and put my foot on the break. I could only just get in and even then I got in since I am 6,4 and Nick is maybe a foot shorter and had the seat pulled all the way up. We gave him a hard time over that for a while. Nick also got some grief over a conversation we were having on the drive. I told Nick that we were entering the land of "IN N Out Burgers" He just loves those things. Nick proceeded to tell JA how good their fries are, now if nick is enthusiastic about something he will let you know with passion what he is talking about. JA said "Those fries last night were great" Nick responds "IN N Out Burger fries can givethe fries last night the 5 all day long, AND they make them right out of potatoes" All went silent for maybe 5 long seconds while JA hada confused look inhis face and tilted his head like a smart dog that hears a new sound. He looks at Nick and says "Well what the hell are they gonna make em out of??" Nick didn't want to say anything at this point cos he knew what he had said and wanted it to just go away before we got hooked on it. So alittle while later we pass a lumber yard that had 2x4's all stacked up on pallets ready to be shipped and Ja turnsto Nick and says "Man, Nick look at all that wood, What you think they make that out of? Trees?" Nick just smiledand let us go on with a few more jabs on what obvious things were made of :)

So we got to our final destination. The Red Lyon Hotel, this place SUCKS. Its supposed to be 3 stars nothing works, they charge us extra for no good reason, thats a long story for another time. I set up my computer at the computer desk and there is no outlet at all near the desk without unplugging the light. Its freezing in here and the heater won't blow hot air. I may ask to change rooms. be back
