1St Annual Senior One Pocket Classic

Seniors playing one pocket!
Is this a 2 week tournament?

Three days is plenty. The tournament in October for 70 year olds and over was run under the same format, race to 4 on the winners and 3 on the one loss side. We were back in our rooms in the rest home before curfew every night.:D

Lots of these old guys gamble too (Including me), and there is plenty of time and opportunity come and steal a few Social Security checks.:p

Why would there be 8 byes? Is there a magic number to prevent byes, or reduce the amount of byes ?

google tournament bracket if you have never seen one

8, 16, 32, 64 -- no byes

now granted if you made the field 32 players, you may only have say 28 players show up so you would have 4 byes -- but I don't understand why you would setup a tournament from the get go to have forced 8 byes.

Yeah, seen many tourney brackets, even had my name on a few ;) Just never thought to look at the tourneys that had more byes than others. This is the first time I've seen someone even mention the "bye" problems for tourneys. But good to know for future reference. Thanks,

Schedule. It eliminates two rounds vs. 32 players since they only have 8 tables.
The 9 ball tournaments in Sacramento at the Jointed Cue were limited to 96 (with 32 byes) because 128 would have been overload.

Best of Luck, John.

This will be fun to watch, wish I was closer.

Is that barber guy who likes to give short trims going to play in this one?

JoeyA

I just talked to that barber guy this morning and he said that he will defiantly be there in October but still undecided about the senior one in April.

P.S. and he said he's taking his clippers with him.

Well, I was getting ready to go to this one in April, since meeting him is on my bucket list. Now, I will have to sleep on it.
