Don't know if it's been asked...

Whatever happened to Mika? I mean, he went from practically winning everything and as ofllate, I have not seen his name anywhere?! Did he quit? Just got a bit burnt and walked away for a bit?

Same for Scott "The Shot" Smith. He was always referee for these big tournaments and he too, just disappeared.

Thanks!

Mika is still around. I see his name in some tournaments, but I agree that he is not as active as he once was.

Scott Smith was replaced, it would seem. I always enjoyed Scott Smith announcing the players. He added a little color to the commentary. Sometimes the extracurricular activities that he would partake in while the tournament was in progress might have been a distraction, but the attendees loved his action in the distraction, if you know what I mean.

Here he is autographing a cigar for a fan at the U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship in 2004 or '5. :D

Mika just did a clinic in FL last week.

SS needed some time to get some personal things in his life straightened out, according to posters here.

Seems like Mika has not been the same player since SVB annihilated him at the Amsterdam BC a few years back. Hopefully he will play great pool again in the near future

Scott is on vacation. May or may not be courtesy of the state. Hope he resurfaces soon. Don't have clue about Mika these days.

Btw John. I hope you received my email. I really Love my slate grey top handle red insert nylon rugged case! The 3X6 size is absolutely perfect! Not some huge a$$ tank - Thanks!

Just saw Mika here in Florida, he has taken some time off to practice and recharge and I believe he said he will be active in the upcoming year.

Does anybody know exactly what this years-back post was referring to? (I do know what "courtesy of the state" insinuates, but not the specifics.)

I always tremendously liked and admired Scott's professionalism and enthusiasm for our sport. Hope he is well.

Atypically unilluminating, Freddie. Perhaps a PM to me would be more appropriate if you care to. Essentially not a matter for public discussion; that fact does have to be acknowledged by me now.

Sorry, it’s not my story to tell. I misunderstood your ask.

That ain't a cigar, that's a well built blunt! lol

Mika has been in pretty good form in the last few months.

He came 2nd at the Bigfoot 10-ball at the 2021 International, 5th at the 2021 International 9-ball, 3rd at the 2022 Bigfoot 10-ball at Derby City, and 6th at the 2022 Derby City 9-ball.

Those are all solid finishes.
