V.F. Issue

The Valley Forge event has a "no selling" policy for non-vendors. That is to say that you are not permitted to walk around hawking your cues unless you are a registered vendor. That is what Doc is referring to when he wants to avoid "trouble." This is a fairly new policy, or at least fairly newly enforced. When I started going to V.F. about 8 years ago they never did anything about it. The last couple of events have had conspicous warnings, though. As such, most of these types of deals go down behind closed doors in the hotel, etc.

I guess no vendor provides "sell your cue at my booth" service at the VF or is that also forbidden ?

Now that is a good question. I don't know that the Expo could do anything about that if a vendor let you throw a few cues out there for sale. You are also free to sell your cues to vendors, as in the one who are collectors. I guess if it is part of vendor business, they don't care. If you can disguise your personal transaction as a vendor one, then more power to you.

Can you at least post prices? And if you have photos and are having trouble posting them, PM me and I'll give you my email address - you can email them to me (if you can :D) and I'll get them posted for you.

Doc - I PM'd you with my e-mail addy... that is, if you want to e-mail the pics to me, I'll post 'em here.

There are many cue dealers there who will gladdly take your cue on consignment and say take 20% of the sale. The no selling rule is because the vendors pay anywhere from 1500 and up to rent the booth and with travel and everything else its hard for them to make a profit unless they sell alot of cues so thats the reason. One guy could be standing there yelling motey for sale and sell his cue and the guy renting the booth who spent 5000 bucks for the weekend gets shafted. You can make deals but you just have to keep it under the table and they wont get too upset. If everybody left there cues home the dealers would be much madder because thats how they aquire most of there stock!
