Congrats the BlackJack who Ran 127 today, good luck with your goal of 150 mate.

Anyone else got any new runs?

Working on it. Had a 73 on wednesday but that doesn't top my best. Things will probably be quiet from my end, in terms of high runs for the next little while.

I made my 44 high break this year, second best was 31. I´m hoping I can crack 50 by the end of the year.

Added your 44 mate (cant add the 50 until you make it ;))

"75 in practice, GC-3 4.5x9, medium-worn cloth, average pockets, and an easy enough shot for 76."

Congrats to Bob J, who increased his high run to climb up the list!

Added.

Well then, I guess it's a good time for me to start playing 14.1. I've messed with it a couple of times, but I need something to get me past this plateau I'm in and I think this might just be the thing.

Get Jim Rempe's video, "How to run 100 balls", and "How to run a rack in straight pool"

Oh, my high run.... 62 with a rack wide open, then missed a gimmie. Been in the fifties many times. Going back to work on this game in a few minutes.

TheSingle,
Many thanks for rubbing it in; but DANG, this game is hard (you world-beaters make it sound so freaking easy it makes me somewhat ill). I played about 5 hours of straight pool on Saturday, but had no significant runs. If I don't do something soon, I might make a trip to the local pool hall; find the easiest table I can, and try to make a run at 50 before the year ends.

I will say that my recent lesson with Mark Wilson has paid some dividends already - he has given me a 3 phase, 6 week program to complete. You may want to hassle me again in 6 weeks to see if I can do better after some intensive practice.

I feel your pain willie, but without this public harrassment I fear you may underachieve! ;) ;)

TheSmallDigit,
Spoken like a true humanitarian; Mother Theresa would be proud of you (well, at least until she found out about those high school escapades).

You are correct though; there's nothing like a little public humiliation to make one serious about practicing (as breakup will find out in January).

I'm all heart, but I have faith in you :D

I'll pencil you in for 45! ;)

Just remembered this thread ... I'm happy to climb out of the bottom group with a 53 a couple of weeks back. Had a 51 just this week during a match, but failed to knock a ball out from a breakshot. Still, it was 48 and out :)

Anybody else got any new highs?

Still working on it. But I haven't been playing much straight pool recently, mainly 8 ball 'cause I suck at it. Also I've rediscovered my passion for snooker.

I'll see what I can do tomorrow, but I doubt I'll top my best.

Willie,
What's this 3 phase, 6 week program that you're in? Are there any tips on practicing that you can share with us? :)

Recently Ive had a few runs in the high 80's and 90's. I had a 112 (Unfinished) last week.

I have my DBS surgery currently scheduled for September 19 (subject to change). God willing, they will be able to give me some relief from this disease, and who knows how many balls my game will jump.

126 and out (to 150) in a tournament in chi-town 1991. was asked to setup balls on a different table after the event was over (as close as i could remember them) continued the run and ran another 53.

this month i got a 14-1 national championship, a 14-1 national ranking event, a 14-1 team competition, and a 14-1 housetournament, so i guess this month ill be playing straightpool untill i die.

hope ill be able to post a better result then these
match:22 in 2006
practice:42 in 2005
