Can you review for us AZers:

1) Where does the money raised from the raffle go?

2) Do you have to be present to win?

3) If you win something, who pays shipping?

Thanks - this looks like a great opportunity.
1) I've edited post #3 on the 1st page of this thread to explain everything. If you have any questions after that, please feel free to ask me. (it's ALOT of typing, so it was easier to cut & paste ;) )

2) Yes. Anyone that purchases a raffle ticket must figure out a way to get themselves to Arnold, MD on Oct 7th just in case they happen to win a book or a bag of nuts. :p Just kidding! No, you do not have to be present to win. ;)

3) Shipping charges will come out of the money collected from the raffle. Some vendors like gobilliards.com are going to hang onto the product and ship it to the winner themselves instead of shipping it to me.

I hope this helps. :)

Timberly,

I reviewed your web site and because I am a fair person I would like to make this suggestion.

Since Barbara donated nutz she too should have her pic on your web page...after all, Linda's is up there.

Landshark<~~~never got nutz
LOL, IIRC Linda's site didn't have a header... there wasn't anything that I could use for a banner that would represent her website as it was.

I know how Barbara is about her pics... believe me, the last thing I'm going to do is post her pic up without first getting permission in writing and notarized... talk about a fast way to her bad side!! Un huh, not me! :p

I called Tom Peck of GoBilliards.com and he is going to donate some items. More details as Timberly gets the info via email soon.
I got the email Donovan. Thank you so much for taking the initiative and getting more donations for the raffle. Your efforts are greatly appreciated! I hope to have the items on the website later tonight.

I've added a few more things to the website. I had to start a 2nd page!! That's a good thing! :)

I've also added a word document to the original post in this thread. It contains a list of all the items that I have and any description if needed. More people have promised items so I'll update this document along with the website as I get the items. I'll then make a post much like this one to let you guys know that it's been updated.

Our newest contributors are Tom Peck of gobilliards. com and Joe Tucker of joetucker.net.

Thanks Tom and Joe!

Just as an FYI on the website having a 2nd page....

I would love nothing more than to have everything on one page. The problem is that I can't. The website is free and space is limited.

The part where it says "click here to go to page 2"... I really can't post anything that low and have it look good. I had to click and drag it below the task bar to where I couldn't see where it was going.

I'm sorry that I had to do multiple pages but I had no choice. My whole reasoning for this website to begin with was as a special thank you to the contributors. Some advertisement and a link to their site with encouragement to go check out that site.

Someone thought that by making a 2nd page, I was somehow saying that some contributors were more important than others. That's not even close to being the case. It's actually a first come, first served.

We've discussed this raffle for quite awhile and I've had the email address in my signature for MONTHS. People had plenty of time to contact me and inquire or even donate.

I added the items on the website in the order that they were donated. There was no favortism of any kind. I'm grateful and appreciative to ALL the contributors.

If someone has a lot of free webspace that they can A) Donate for this purpose, and B) maintain because I know nothing about real websites... I'm listening. This was like a paint by numbers free service on AOL. I personally cannot do any better than what I've already done. Sorry.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! What are you trying to do? Kill the web site?? Okay, okay!! I'll get you some nuts!!

Barbara

Barbara,

I feel that since SOMEONE had to have their picture posted, then I am taking the hit for you and should be entitled to nuts too. <shameless begging and diversionary below the belt whining technique> :D

Timberly,

You are doing a fantastic job! Not too many would step up to the plate and take on what is becoming an enormous job. Thank you very much.

Linda

Tim's ~ You have done such a good job with the website and since space on the website was not promised fom the start, I know that people will understand if they don't get top billing or billing...

As part of this donation for DCC, maybe someone who has the ability and funds will be willing to donate their time and funds to make this a bigger web site?

I am in a quandry on making some score sheets for a event I have coming up, so I am of no help in this situation, sorry. Hopefully someone will see this thread and offer to donate the hours of time this takes to construct a ever growing site as this.

Bert Kinister is getting in on the donations too. He will be giving away some DVD's from his website. More info on this to come.

About the website stuff, I have offered via email to help do all of that including donating a domain if Timberly wants my help. I had no idea that this was being discussed here in the forum until I posted the donation from Bert Kinister.

To get things rolling, pool room owner and AZ member cueandcushion (real name Craig) is going to give a free t-shirt to the first ten people that buy tickets. Thanks Craig! :)
Two T-shirts won, Eight more to go. ;)

Due to my lack of web knowledge and the lack of web space on the original site, Donovan has stepped up and started a new website. There's more space so hopefully everything will fit on the front page. It'll also give me back a few hours each wkend that I was spending on figuring out the website & getting things to work right.

The new site is listed in my signature and I've updated the original post in this thread. Go check it out! http://www.az1p-raffle.com/

Donovan paid for this webspace out of his own pocket and set it all up. He's also gone out and gotten a few people to donate items for the raffle. He's been very helpful in trying to make this a success and I greatly appreciate it!

A special thanks to Donovan for helping out and a special thanks to all the AZ members, both regular members and business owners that have donated items for the raffle. This truly is a great group of people. ;)

Thanks!

Donations and Tickets...

Don't forget to email Timberly about your Donations.

Everyone should start sending in their checks for tickets.

Timberly started this great thing so we can have a great time next year, so now let's work together and make it successful!;) :) :D

A few more items were just added to the website & the word doc list of items in the 1st post of this thread has been updated.

Thank you Samm Diep & Hal ;)

When the mutiple donations are broken down, there are currently a total of 38 items to be raffled. This list is growing almost daily.

It's tax time & most (not all) get some kind of refund. Now is the time to get the tickets... a little extra money in your pocket, no Christmas holiday in sight... ;)

cue&cushion is giving the 1st 10 people that buy tickets a free t-shirt. There's still some shirts left to be won...

I'll donate a KOH poster - unsigned.

Linda
Thanks Linda! All I would need you to do is email me a pic of it so that we can put it up on the website. :)

Just a few quick things to update here. I want to first thank BANKONIT for his support and enthusiasm. I went to a tournament yesterday at his stomping ground and he got on the PA system and announced what we were doing and encouraged people to buy tickets. There were quite a few AZ'ers there... mostly lurkers but some that get in the mix like Kevin Lindstrom who is usually found over in the cue sections. :) BANKONIT, thanks to you we sold $80 in raffle tickets yesterday! Thank you. :)

Steve Booth from 1pocket.org has donated a nice polo shirt with the 1p.org logo on it. Donovan has that pic and depending on his holiday wkend, I assume he'll get the info up shortly. Thank you Steve!

Also, the items that Craig aka cueandcushion donated arrived yesterday. I didn't get in until late and I'm taking off for Philly right now so I won't be able to take pics until i get home Sun night. :( As a reminder, here are all the wonderful things that Craig has donated. All of these items, esp the clothing are top quality. Thank you Craig!
