"I repeat, Houston, we have a POLO!"

Yes, Steve Booth donated a onepocket.org logo Black Polo. He mentioned that it can be your choice of size from Medium to XXXL. Thanks Steve!

Keep up the good work Timberly

You are very welcome. Glad you liked the donations. I hope whoever gets the jewelry likes it. I did want to point out that the jewelry pieces are not the cheap stamped out stuff you find at the malls. I did make these two pieces personally and they are 14k yellow gold CASTED and HAND FINISHED. So they are small but well made. Good luck to everyone that contributes to the raffle.

Awesome job Tim's. I will come up with some kind of pool-related graphics to donate for the raffle. I will be brainstorming as to what that will be, so I will elaborate more later.
You are doing GREAT GIRL!

Thanks Todd. :)

This is too weird!! Just last night I was thinking about you and wondering where you were. I was going to PM you tonight when I got home to check on you and the first thing I see when I sign on is a post from you! Good to hear from you and see you posting again. I hope all is well. ;)

After talking about it for what seems like forever, I'm finally at a place where I can start the raffle for the AZB-1p DCC room.

Due to the different items and the number of items, it's not going to be possible to raffle each item individually. This is going to be one giant raffle for multiple items. The drawing will be on Oct 7th.

All the items will be on a list and we will work off of that list. The 1st ticket drawn will be the winner of the 1st item on the list and so forth. It is possible to win multiple items.

The drawing will be held at the Tiger Planet Pool tournament in Arnold, MD the wkend of the 7th. There will be at least 4 AZB members (possibly more) at this tourney who will witness the drawing and the validity of the drawing. I will also have a list of all the ticket numbers that have been assigned and all tickets will be accounted for after the drawing, again to ensure the validity of the raffle. (I don't want anyone questioning the integrity of this raffle so I'm taking as many steps as possible to make sure that doesn't happen) ;)

Checks and money orders will be accepted for payment. I will not be using paypal. I know that it's nice and easy to use as a sender but I'm not going to fool with it and the fees as a recipient. You have until Oct. That's plenty of time to write a check and get a stamp. :)

I will accept money for tickets up to Oct 6th. Our postal service can do amazing things at times but can also take their time. It would be in your best interest to have the check mailed out at least 5 days prior. Any money received after the 6th will be returned to the sender. I will also accept donations of items up til Oct 6th.

As a thank you to all the people that have donated items for the raffle, Donovan has made a webpage and included a banner to everyones website. We've also added pictures of the raffle items that I currently have in my possession.
http://www.az1p-raffle.com/

Not all of the items are listed on the website at this time. There are quite a few people that have told me they will be donating items for the raffle at a later date.

This thread will be the main raffle thread and any updates will be posted here. I am going to include a link to this thread in my signature so that it can be referenced easily.

Prices for the tickets will be...
Three tickets for $5
Seven tickets for $10
Twenty tickets for $20

When you mail in your check or money order please include a piece of paper that contains your screen name and also your mailing address. I hope to have everything boxed & ready to ship by the time of the drawing and will want to ship them the following Monday if at all possible.

Mail to...
DCCR 07
129 E. Maple St.
Palmyra, PA. 17078

To get things rolling, pool room owner and AZ member cueandcushion (real name Craig) is going to give a free t-shirt to the first ten people that buy tickets. Thanks Craig! :)

EDIT:::: Make checks payable to Timberly Pike. Sorry about that.

Here's a list of all the items I have & a description if needed. Lots more has been promised. I'll update this as I go along and let everyone know when I've added stuff.

Timberly,
I would be happy to donate cases of Quick-Clean, wiper and a towel. This would be a year supply. If you would pm me with the details.
David

Questions.....

I was wondering how the AZ Billiards table room is actually run. Who is allowed? First come first served? Are all members getting the same access? Does someone who has been a member since 2003 but has not a single post get the same table time as Timberly? Not trying to stir trouble, just wondering if there are a set of rules or etiquette that will apply to the room. Are only members who are buying tickets allowed? Can they bring guests? Should we charge a guest fee (towards non AZB members) and put the proceeds towards Timberly's expenses? Are badges or nametags issued? How about a Derby City Classic poster that all the members could sign for Tom Ferry's family? (Old Has Been) Just things I have been pondering. It is a discussion forum, so thought I would throw out random thoughts on the subject......the gossip in the pool room is already starting to dwell on this years DCC. Last year we had about 25-30 regulars that went. The building was empty all week.

Would like to hear everyones ideas and thoughts. Craig..

Craig, the way we did it last yr was... If you contributed money towards the room, you got to play on the table. If you did not contribute money but are a member, you're more than welcome to come into the room and be a railbird.

We had a chalk board and we put our names on a list to play. To ensure everyone got to play and no one person was hogging the table all night, the winner kept the table but gave it up the next round. (win or lose). If you were playing 9 ball you could play 3 games, 8 ball was 3 games, and one pocket was 1 or 2 if I remember correctly.

Williebetmore made up some very nice name tags for the members that said they were coming. He made them for both the contributors and the railbirds.

We had a little extra money and that was spent a couple of different ways. We had two four man tournaments and paid a little to each spot. We also ordered pizza once or twice. All the money went into the room and activities for the room. Organizers and room monitors were not reimbursed for any expenses, it was all volunteer. OHB & Williebetmore were the ones that really made it happen last yr.

We're still discussing the things we'll do this yr. so nothing has really been set in stone yet. We're definitely going to be doing something in memory of OHB but what exactly is still undecided. We're just asking people to post their ideas on what they think we should do.

Hope this answers most of your questions. ;)

As things develop, I would be glad to post any news or events on the raffle site. The site could be our portal for all finalized information, not just the raffle. Just let me know what you need posted and I will set it up!

SO NOTE TO THE 2007 AZ/1P DCC COMMITTEE: I am more than willing to contribute what I can.

wow

Sounds like the AZ Billiards room is run better than most the pool rooms I have been in. I need to apply some of these rules to my pool room too...lol. Thank you Timberly...

I am coming with several friends to DCC next year. I will have to tell them to make sure and cough up some cash for tickets so they can play. :)

Well, I guess we got moved.

It looks like this is going to be a roving thread. I wonder how much it would cost us to get ad time on AZB so that we can still be getting the word out?

AZHousePro & Timberly,

Do you think we can get some ad time, since we will not be a sticky on the main thread? Please let us know? I know this is a long running raffle, but with as many people that attended last year, I think starting early on prep time just makes life a little easier on everyone who wants to get involved.

Quick Update

David Hodges has donated a years supply of Quick-Clean which will include a case (12 cans) a towel, and a wiper. Donovan should have the website updated shortly. Thank you David!

Also keep an eye out for information on a cool donation from Freddy the Beard! The donation has been made but I'm waiting on clarification of something that I didn't understand before I make the post.

Freddy the Beard

Check out the very generous donation that Freddy has given us.

Autographed shirt (long sleeve or short sleeve), a copy of Banking With The Beard, a pre-pub copy of The GosPool, According To The Beard, and one hour free lessons from Freddy the Beard.

If the winner of this package is going to the DCC, they will get an hour worth of lessons at the DCC. Freddy also noted that if the winner is not going to the DCC that they could deem a friend to get the lesson, or some one they choose from off the forums who is going to attend.

Thank you Freddy! :)

What a generous offer! Thanks to everybody that has donated. I might have to donate something now.

I think if you hurry and buy some tickets there is one more shirt left from the first 10 people to buy tickets. I was the 9th.

Timberly~ This is excellent news. YOU have done such a great job of getting all of this together!

Great Donation

Great donation Freddy! Very classy. :)

SPECIAL NOTE: I will be contacting those who are getting the free tee shirts shortly when the final list is tallied by Timberly. I have all the tee shirts in stock now and most colors are available in each size from medium to XXL. Thanks to all that bought tickets!!

I am sorry to all of you from me that have went to the Raffle Website in the last couple of days. The servers are down for maintenance for a week. I have the updates ready to post as soon as they are up and running again. Thanks for your patience.

I have been on my last long trip for my old job. I will get everything updated on the website in the next couple of days. Sorry again for the delays.

Unbelievable

Well, again I have to say I am sorry. This is getting out of hand. The first date that was told to me that access to webpages would be allowed when they started their maintenance at InsightBB.com was for 4 days and on May 2nd. However they keep playing games because the date keeps on changing. Here is the latest BS from this server provider.

===
Maintenance Notification
This web page is temporarily unavailable due to upgrades being implemented on the server.

We expect this work to be completed by 1AM May 19th . Until that time, certain dynamic web pages will be unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to improve your online experience.
===

SO until they stop this crap, I will not be able to update our Raffle website and the guy from GoBilliards.com can't update his site either. So I will not give you any more updates on this until something has actually changed.

Thanks for your patience and understanding that things are beyond my control. At least, you now know it wasn't really me not getting the stuff done, I just thought this would go away soon. I figured it was easier to blame the delay on me, rather than explain all this BS. I have had the pages ready to upload the day after I got the emails from Timberly every time. I didn't want you to continue to think I had this long of a lazy moment. ;)

:( Felling bad about this, but hopeful for a spedy recovery. :D
