2007 Tour Card Tourney at the Wynn in Dec.

OK, There are 100 Qualifiers resulting in 200 winners that will compete in Dec at the Wynn with the bottom 50 2006 Tour Card holders. What is the format? How many advance? is there prize money?
 
It appears that the 200 who have taken first and second in the 100 qualifier tourneys will compete in December at the Wynn and the top 50 from this join the top 100 from 2006 for a total of 150 players that have then earned their 2007 IPT Cards.
Then to fill the roster for the 2007 tourneys with another 50 non card holders - there will be 25 qualification tourneys to bring the total competators to 200.
 
Yep, my only concern now is that many many players have been told no tournaments next year until July. So if you put up $2,000 this weekend you will have to wait until December to play in the Qualifier in Vegas and then another 7 months before you get to see a return, potentially a total of 10+ months. I don't understand the reasons for the huge delay next year, I sure hope theyre not going to hold all the open qualifiers first, that could be the straw that breaks the camels back :confused: :mad:
 
Don't the folks who lose their card this year (Linda, Colin, Bernie, Sigel, etc.) get to play at the Wynn and try to reinstate their card? Wouldn't that make the number of players higher than 200 at the Wynn?

First I heard of that. You get all the news first.

Have to admit though that it does not sound right. Why? What happened? Could there really be a cash flow problem?

Oh oh. I better get over to the IPT site and make sure I watch all the videos so I get my $6 worth.

Ah, the plot thickens. From free entry for those 2006 IPT card holders who don't win a 2007 card to paying $2,000. At least I thought they had a free entry. I need a good drink, there just are too many facts for my brain to organize.

Hey, maybe I better switch to the dark side. It is a lot easier. I might even get some reps. And besides, it is all Bush's fault.

If you listen to the players meeting at the World Open KT is saying that they will need to pay 2000$ to play the tournament, and that they didn't need to qualify to play. I thought that was the idea from the beginning, wasn't it?
 
Come on Jake, get with the program! Yep according to Sigel and many players no 2007 tournaments until the second half of the year and Yep all the current IPT card holders who finish outside the top 100 (prob 75) now have to pay 2k entry. Many players not too pleased about this but what can they do, some might say atleast they had 1 year free ride, but they were still led to beleive they got a free entry.

+ $150k - from the IPT card hodlers who have to try again (if they all try)
+ $2,000,000 - from 100 qualifiers (assuming they average 10 entries)
+ $2,000,000 - cancelled IPT London event (-maybe 100k to people udner 13k)

Now doesn't that balanace sheet look better! :rolleyes:
