2009 AZ straight pool : Video runs

Hey Dennis,

Good shooting! I do believe you were sharked though on the last break shot, when the question of how many balls so far. and you opponent said at least 2 racks!

I think you are 100% right. I know they did not do it on purpose. Sometimes we chat a little while playing, but I think it affected me nonetheless. That pissed me off, too. I was within 5 balls of my high run, relatively good break shot, and they talk about numbers and getting me looking up at the beads and counting and then they are talking about I'm stroking the ball good. Too much nonsense in my head at that time.

I noticed early on that you were shooting at a nice pace, and started to slow that down towards the end of your run.

Honestly i think you should shoot just a hair bit slower and be more observant of the table, i think with that your #s will climb alot higher since you pocket balls real well and have a nice stroke.

Steve

I do shoot a bit fast. You are probably right there. I probably would not have had to shoot that second break ball off the rack, if I had stopped and looked at exactly where I needed to be on the key ball. It's something I will work on.

I am watching your run from above (http://azbtv.magnify.net/video/dw41-avi ) and saw you make that break ball off the corner ball of the rack real sweet, Blackjack posted a while back with him making the same shot and I know that is not an easy shot. He would love to see what you did with yours. Blackjack you have to check that out.

Dennis your stoke is smoother and looking real nice. You are definitely leaving the tip out there alot better. I think the people watching your match should have kept mum and let you play I hated seeing you miss that break ball, your stroke went left and you missed to the right prior to that your tip was going out straight. I have got to get up to the club so I can get down with the real DMG myself.

Also thanks for sending the Hunter DVD I have been gone to FL and have not had a chance to look at it yet.

Keep stroking buddy.

Here's a 41 I got last night. Missed a pretty easy break shot. I also had a 23 and 25 earlier that night.

Nice run Dennis, was that Ed "The Sharkmaster" Latimer that I heard talking just before you missed that breakball? :D

Great shot Dennis! It is almost identical to my shot - its a real life saver when you know how ... your shot is actually tougher because you were in a match. I needed two tries to recreate it in this video.

My break ball off the rack shot

elvi: Thanks for the encouragement. The stroke is getting a little bit better but need to keep working to steady it out.

Marop: That was none other than Ed "Sharkmaster" Latimer putting in his two cents just before my miss.

Blackjack: it was a little embarrassing that I got so bad that I had to try it, but it was a life saver. I did the same shot a few weeks ago in practice.
Proof that i need to work on my ball control>
