2009 World Team Challenge-Suggestions

Still no suggestion for a US Team composition?

Based on recent development in the world of pool. Team Europe may have a problem as Gre Leenders is directly contacting these Euro players and threatening to ban them from the EuroTour if they join ANY of our events!

It is a little premature but I can tell you that we are working on something similar but for teams of two only.
We are planning that one player plays 8 ball, one plays 9 ball and the two play 10 ball in doubles.
Decent prize money for each game and a bonus for best all round pair and hopefully we will get it off the ground early next year.
We might try the pilot tournament with Europe only to see how it goes and then open it up to the rest of the world.
We have some sponsors and if the pilot goes well, we are sure to get more.
What does anyone think about the format?

.......

These 4 players should be included in Team USA: Shane Van Boening, Johny Archer, Rodney Morris, Corey Deuel. The other 4 spots are up for grabs.

Team Philippines:

  1. Efren
  2. Bustamante
  3. Alex "The Lion"
  4. Orcullo
  5. Manalo
  6. Alcano
  7. Joven Bustamante
  8. "The Superman" Gomez

Philippine team can stay, you can even have two. You have have too many world class players. It's just the Team Taiwan, I don't think they can beat any two Philippine teams.
  • Yang Ching Shun
  • Chang Jung Lin
  • Wu Chia Ching
  • Wang Hung Hsiang
  • Chang Pei Wei
  • Kuo Po Cheng
  • Ko Pin Yi
  • Wu Yu Lun

The Taiwan team above would beat any team in the world if the game was 9-ball, maybe even 10-ball... :)

Adding players from any other SE or North Asian countries would dilute the talent :)

I prefer Chao Fong-Pang and Hsia Hui-Kai to Wang Hung Hsiang and Chang Pei Wei. Chao will be the best leader among this young team.

No women players? I think taiwan women team also can beat any team in the world.
