2014 World 9-Ball Championship

Wow shane broke dry, but the cue is snookered behind the 7 with no shot on the 1

Shane should get this one against Tohru Kurabasyashi, but a monster awaits in the quarterfinals, where Shane would play either former World 9-ball Champion Wu Jiaqing or recently crowned 2014 China Open Champion Y.L. Chang. This is fun!

Many of the mighty have fallen, but the last sixteen looks awfully tough to me. Two of last year's medalists remain in Gabica (silver) and Biado (bronze) and 2012 silver medalist He Wen is still alive. Add in Niels, Shane, Wu, Ko, YL Chang and Chua and you know it will take lights out play to win this.

Think this is the first time I've seen so many racking issues using MR

Tohru makes a ball off the break but no shot on the one. Plays a safe on the one but hits it to hard and the one ball trickles into the pocket. BIH for shane. has to break out the 3 and 7 ball and does so successfully. Plays very poor shape on the 9 ball and misses. Tohru makes the 9. Big swing right there, should be 5-1 but now 4-2 with shanes break coming.

Shane breaks and makes 2 balls, the cue gets kicked into perfect position for the one. Shane runs a simple rack to make it 5-2. Tohru break.

so nobody is going to comment on Efren being given a so called "world 9-ball championship" title in 1999 when he didn't win it? Just sweep that one under the rug I guess?

Last 16 - Evening session

Carlo Biado - 4 Ko Pin Yi - 4
Kuribayashi Tohru - 3 Shane Van Boening - 5
Li He Wen - 2 Nick Van Den Berg - 0
Johann Chua - 5 Waleed Majed - 4
Raymund Faraon - 1 Elmer Haya - 2
Wu Jia Qing - 5 Chang Yu Lung - 3
Niels Feijen - 9 Mario He - 3
Antonio Gabica - 5 Albin Ouschan - 4

Shane is making these buckets look like a bar box by the way. Good thing for everyone else that it's alternate break, otherwise he'd win every match 11-4.

Get off the freaking soap box already, noone gives a shit. We are here to talk about the tournament.

This KO vs BIADO match is really fantastic. After a long safety game, Ko blinked first and Carlo has ball in hand.

Tohru breaks and the cue ball gets kicked in the corner pocket. Shane has a simple run out to make it 7-3. Ko and Biado are tied at 4.

just pointing out that the Shane haters will openly discuss why his 2007 Predator World 10-ball championship shouldn't be considered a world title, yet Efren didn't win the '99 WPA world 9-ball championship and he was given a world title for winning a different matchroom even in the same year and nobody says a peep. I just find it funny.

Shane breaks and squats the one ball center table. Has a tough shot on the one, makes it and leaves a tricky shot on the 2. He powers it in and continues to run out the table. I didnt see his first match where he won 11-4. But it looks like Shane is in great form right now. Up 8-3 Tohru breaking.

Is this the last stream for today ?

I think the quarter-finals (final 8) will be played today, right after this set of matches. Then tomorrow will be the semi-finals and the finals.
