2014 World 9-Ball Championship

One of the most interesting things about this tournament is the intense pressure and how players hold up or don't. Before Haya missed the one I noticed his back arm literally shaking. Don't see stuff like that very often at most pro tournaments.

Haya is a house pro at a club in Qatar, he has NEVER been to the later stages in any tournament like this one. It's understandable, the money is a huge factor for him as well seemingly

German Bundesliga Final

Haya sold out on the 2, after 2 great shots Niels can run out...
BOOOM! Great runout to seal the match 7-11! All Europe final
against Ouschan.

Ouschan is certainly a great player but if one could choose 10 or even 20
players you do not want to play in the final of the WC I do not think Albin would make the list.

Many of these players have been to our club this year to play their matches in the 1. German league (Nicky vdB, Niels, Souquet, Hybler, Alcaide...), and of course Albin! He's also a very tough guy to beat. He should keep this close.

But I'll also give the slight edge to Niels, cause he has one of the best strokes I've ever seen!!
Watching him LIVE, even a stop shot looks so great - unbelievable swing and hit!

Greetings to the Netherlands!

He started out a bundle of nerves and just got worse. It must be terrifying facing Feijen in the semis of such a prestigious event, especially the way he's been playing here. Too bad Haya wasn't able to calm himself down, Niels gave him enough chances to pull this one off.

I just want to say I was in no way mocking Haya or anyone else for feeling pressure. It's just interesting to me to watch to see how they deal with it.

One of the chatters said the shake is normal for Haya. First time I have seen him, so I don't know. Perhaps its a nerve thing (like Varner, Lane, Moore) rather than a nervous thing.

I've played in Taiwan before and at the time there were an estimated 1000 places with pool tables AND house pros. I wasn't crazy about their equipment, but we did gamble with some of them and at the time there were none that could win. That has changed and I know they play at a high speed.

Can they beat Shane when he's in high gear?

Probably not.

Long race 10-ball, played in Diamond tables and especially in USA, Shane is the safest bet, but several filipinos can challenge him and occasionally beat him in that.
I don't know if Alcano or Orcollo catches their highest gear, who will win, but Shane's break overall is by far better. Then again lets not forget, was it 2012 spring, when Orcollo had practised the break, he won first a 10-ball 'warm-up' in Hard Times LA (beat Shane in the finals and especially out-breaked him), and then one week after won the 10-bal US Open where he demolished practically everyone. Busti and Pagulayan were second and third. During that time Shane was interviewed and he admitted that his famous break is no more the best neccessary and mentioned Orcollo. The thing is that Shane has been wise enough to keep up with practising that break, while Dennis for example not. So Shane has been wiser and more hard working, his break is more consistent, but his cue ball, overall game with safeties and kicks, might not be as good as several others, including few Taiwanese (which on average have better breaks than filipinos).
And whilst Filipinos have challenged and occasionally beat him in USA, many more of them has beaten him in Filippines. Few years back Shane was quite easy money for the best of them, and he didn't play Dennis nor Alcano.
And like Jay said, no filipinos are going to Taiwan to earn money by gambling. There's as many good players as in Filippines. Already four different Changs have gotten WPA World Championships medal, lol, and then there's the others.

But I would say that in Shane's league in long race gambling, Dennis, Alcano, Yang, Wu and maybe two Changs. Then for example Pagualyan if he dedicates, is there too. Bustamante also, at least couple of years back, don't know if anymore.

Stream much better for me now.

Wow, so happy the stream is much better now that they are down to one match.
Ouschan up 2-0, flawless so far.

Game 4

Niels second break, had illegal break first time and Ouschan ran out. Good break, ball pocketed but tough one ball. Good safety. Ball in hand for Niels.
Out of line on 4, misses 5. Ouschan real smooth on long 5 ball. Out like a light.

3-1 Ouschan

Game 6

Niels breaks, ball down. Makeable one but.......tough situation. Nice shot and good shape on two. Distraction from audience, maybe cell phone, before shot on four. Out of line on five but good recovery.

3-3

Ouschan breaks, dry. Standard run out for Niels.

3-2

Nice commentary. Good work , keep it up.
This kid is below Niels speed. He has been biggest giant killer taking out Ortmann , Gabica. Li He Wen and Chang . He is playing well and Niels has to play A+ game
Niels is the sentimental favorite.
Go go Niels
:)

Game 7

Ouschan breaks and pockets three balls, no shot on the two. Way too soft on safety attempt. Leaves easy shot. Niels makes the two and moves nine off of the six for an easy lay of the table, out of line on the eight, in the heart for another run out.

4-3 Feijen

Game 8

Niels breaks and makes a ball. Reasonable shot on one, good shape. He is finding his rythem. Runs out, just a little short on the nine but in the hole. Oh man now my feed is starting to break up.

5-3 Feijen

Game 10

Niels breaks hard and pockets a ball but illegal break. Ouschan has easy one ball. Last break Niels moved almost all the balls above the side pockets this time not enough crossed the head string. Tough rule. Ouschan has connect the dots out.

5-5
