2014 World 9-Ball: SVB vs. Jung-Lin play by play

Rack #20 cont'd

JL taking his time for sure...this could be hes tourny.

Chalking the hell out of his cue...and MISSES.

Rack #20 cont'd

5 balls left on table and SVB advances...two ball down...goes two rails and almost freezes on the three ball. wow

Decision time: Safe or cut it in

SVB CUTS it in. Nice shot.

SVB not taking chances and plays safe on 5 ball. JL thinking pretty hard on what to do. How can he get out of this trap.

Rack #20 cont'd

Ahhhhhhhhhhh the jump cue (works in jump cue factory remember)

He jumps and gets a great hit on 5 ball....but scratches...JL concedes the match.

SVB wins 11 to 9

Great match! Congrats to Shane. As they say during the NCAA basketball tourney, survive and advance.

Seriously what is wrong with pool? I've seen morgues with more spectators. Could it be any more depressing?

I just checked plane tickets and they range from $1600-$5000 per person.
Not sure if many people would travel from the US with such expenses to watch this tourney: to play yes (but very, very few), to watch no.

As for locals, not sure why they wouldn't fill the stands.

I don't think pool is well known in Qatar. It's as if they held a cricket match in the US.
