I'm sorry but that's a REALLY naive statement...
That's got to be one of the most naive statement's I've heard in a while.
If you have easier conditions, it's not the person that best adapts to the circumstances that wins, it's the person that plays best under those circumstances.
In pool, easing up the conditions just means that players that would have no chance under tougher conditions have a greater chance under the easier conditions.
You may adapt to the conditions just fine but it still is a coin flip because there's no discernible difference between the player's on those conditions.
In modern pro pool the only way to create a discernible difference is to have tougher playing conditions.
Personally, I don't mind alternating break, but I prefer the tightest conditions possible.

Bad rolls and unlucky breaks aside, overall Ouschan played a more confident game. He deserved to come out on top.
A champion is one who can adapt and rise above all given the same set of conditions.
If you can't operate within the circumstances that everyone else in the world is working with, then you'll not be a "world" champion. You could setup the tightest table in your home room and be your own "home room champion".
It reminds me of Earl's complain about large pockets. Shane needs to stop whining and just go do it.
Ga Young Kim will win. She's just stronger than Fu overall. In recent years, I don't think any girl can beat Ga Young in a 10-ball race to 100.
