I have to agree with true double elimination is the best way to play if SVB plays Chang in the finals and the match goes hill hill Chang would lose the US Open to a guy he's up 6 games on in the event that would be brutal.

anyone knows if this semi Shane v Shaw is win by 2 racks also ?
I recall reading somewhere that past year they have win by 2 rack for semifinal
 
Last time I checked Earl Strickland is still alive, so Shane is not chasing the ghost of Earl Strickland, he's chasing Earl Strickland himself and his 5 U.S. Open titles.

I've always thought double-elimination should be played the same way in the finals. To do otherwise is BS, unless the guy in the winner's bracket suggests playing the one-set, win by 2 format. It should come down to the final two players and the guy in the winner's bracket makes the call. The loser should have no say in the matter and neither should whoever is running the tournament.

Shaw is breaking same way like he did when he started his run in last match from 4-10 down

I agree , some people think it's a advantage to come from the losers bracket

I am rooting for Chang to take it down. He's long overdue to win a big tourney like this...I hope he pulls it off!!!

Shaw basically just continued playing from previous match v Chang
He was breaking great for 7 racks in last match and he just carried on here breaking same way cos it is same table, same conditions

5-0 on a table length 2-9 combo by Shaw.:eek::eek::eek:
 
Shaw could possibly run out this set and then continue next match running out v Chang
He has broken beautifully 7+4=11 racks
Won 10 of those 11 racks majority of them B&R
