Last one was in '17. IIRC all the CSI pro championships are now on the big table.Forgive me if this has been posted and I can't find it, but, it seems as though there is no event 2018. Is this correct?
thanks.

Watching the Pros on the bar tables is an excellent teaching tool. Not much too learn about breaking out multiple clusters watching big table 9-ball. There are a ton more bar table players on the planet than Pros. KEEP the bar table events!
I was able to get in touch with someone at CSI - they need to negotiate a new venue. It's unknown at this point if that means the USBTC will skip 2018, or just be held later than usual.[/QUOTE Seein' how '18 is about done i KINDA doubt there will be one this year.
The switch to big table is so top players get more big table time. Players from other countries NEVER play on them and over the years US players have paid the price for too much 7ft. table play. I do agree that cluster-busting is important on a bar-box but watching top pros on little tables is kinda of a joke after a while. Too easy for better players.Watching the Pros on the bar tables is an excellent teaching tool. Not much too learn about breaking out multiple clusters watching big table 9-ball. I agree. 8ball is the only b-box game challenging for better players. Lotta traffic to mess-u-up.I wouldn’t want to see big tournaments like the us open be played on bar tables but I do enjoy watching pro bar box 9 ball. Honestly 8 ball is better on a bar box so it’s definitly more entertaining on the small tables.

I'm not sure you and I are talking about the same tournaments. The US Open 10 ball and 8 ball tournaments have switched from the bar tables to the big tables recently (which I like). I am referring to the US Bar Table Championships, which have been held annually on the bar tables for what... 20+ years?
I am all for having major tournaments on the big tables, I love them too! But there is no reason for anyone to hate on the bar table championships. Hundreds of people have made their way out to Reno or Vegas for that tournament for a long time now.
With new cloth, template racks, and high quality clean balls there are really not that many clusters to deal with. It's just the best players on easier equipment.

Call Mark at Griffs/CSI and tell him you want the USBTC back. Let us know how that goes.I'm not sure you and I are talking about the same tournaments. Make it a 650/under Fargo event. Don't need top pros playing on a cracker box. That's basically just a burial ground for a LOT of dead-money.I reached out to Ozzy, he said they still own the tournament and will be bringing it back. What's your point? Do you think I'm the only one who likes the tournament?
