2021 World Snooker Championship

i think the commentator in the Selby/Williams match said that Selby was at like a 97 or 98 pot success

Yep, Selby totally outplayed him. To lose with a session to spare is pretty embarrassing

Wow what an interesting frame.

Kyren missed the red 7 times and each time the CB hit the black.

Shaun won the frame 89-15 and over half those points came from snookers.

I thought it was interesting that Kyren just kept getting down and didn't seem like he was making any adjustments.
I think there were three problems with the shot. The cue ball was fairly close to the first cushion which makes the spin more critical. Also, on the Z pattern he had to deal with the slide on the second rail. Finally, the black was partly in the way of the two-rail contact.

But, yes, it did seem like he was not making any adjustment.

bingham starting off good, one century and a maximum attempt. followed by a quintessential selby frame: half an hour safety play, reds all over the place. even got himself a warning for slow play.

This is one of the times where those who say follow-through doesn’t matter run into trouble.
...when whitey is close to the first cushion, the cue should be stopped as soon as the white is hit.
....and I agree that it is too many points to lose...it makes a snooker unreasonably valuable....
...a friend of mine had ten scratches in a Canadian Championship....he just conceded the game...could’ve been more.
...I showed him how to hit it afterwards....he won the match and the championship, BTW

Selby needing like a million snookers.

Commentator: Surprised to see him continue.

Me: First time watching him play?

re-racks are a common occurance in selby matches, but i've never seen or heard of FOUR re-racks. jesus christ. come on now stuart

Heck of a performance by Murphy. He came into tonight's final session tied at 12-12 and won 5 frames in a row* to take the match. And he trailed 4-10 earlier, which means he won 13 of the last 15 frames!

*and 8 in a row including the last 3 from the earlier session

Good start for our horse today.

and then the wheels came off. Wow Murphy was totally unplayable. Losing 10-4 and winning 13 out of the next 15 frames is just incredible. 99% pot success in the evening session (100% long pot success). Haven’t seen Shaun play this good for a long long time

Selby is boring as hell. I’d rather have needles in my eyes than watch him play especially when he’s losing. Hope Stuart gets the two frames he needs.
