2022 World Pool Masters (May 5-8)

Did anyone see the feature they showed before the Ko vs Ko match? I absolutely loved it. They were at a bowling alley and having a whole lot of fun. After they finished bowling, they were interviewed (in the bowling alley) about their upcoming match and it was heartwarming. You could tell that their brotherly love ran so deep that they just couldn't view each other as a rival.

At times, I've argued that we don't get to know the players enough because the interviews and features are so plain vanilla, but this feature was different, and we really got to know the Ko brothers a little more.

Well done!
I spoke to them at the DCC six years ago….they’re a tight family…Little Ko stuck to his big bro like glue…and you just knew he was a good big brother.

Reminded me of my brother, who is five years older than me.

I saw the one they did with Kazakis where he went paddle boarding.

Now all we need is a big event in South Dakota so Shane can take Emily ice fishing.

Yeah, these features are excellent. I'm sure the ice fishing feature is coming soon.

Here is at least a part of it on their YouTube channel

big ko has came out of their hiatus much better than lil ko. pre-covid, lil ko was a tougher draw than pin yi, or atleast as tough.

Huge game Filler Vs Orcollo... i'm impatient to see it!

Pockets are smaller but we have seen balls touching far the table, bounce and going in...so, the pockets geometry also changed to accept balls better?

I step out for smoke come back and Filler is on the hill 6-0 :ROFLMAO:
Filler not at his best yesterday . Today he really step it up , this kid is in top gear today

Filler B&R to win 7-0
I just caught glimpse of his opponent , Orcollo 🤣
Fantastic Superbalous performance by Filler -the best performance of the event by any player so far

This World Pool Masters has karma theme
Kazakis whitewash SVB in final last year 9-0
Orcollo whitewash Kazakis 7-0 this year
And now Filler whitewash Orcollo 7-0

Short races can be brutal. Orcullo ran into a buzzsaw here and never even got to attempt to make a ball against Filler. Josh wasn't perfect in this one, missing shape occasionally, but good breaking of the balls, phenomenal shot-making and superior defensive play allowed him to maintain control of the table at all times. I was pleased to hear Jeremy Jones make the comment I've made for a long time, that Filler doesn't get the credit he deserves for being an excellent defensive player and that the reason is because people tend to fixate primarily on his phenomenal offensive execution.

Despite the 7-0 loss, I'm walking away from this match feeling great about the fact that Dennis Orcullo is back in the mix after what I'm sure were a few very stressful months dealing with his visa issues. Pool is a better sport with Dennis in it.

All the credit to Josh on this dominating performance, but welcome back Dennis. We've missed you.

I liked the sportsmanship shown by Orcullo at the end of this match. Despite what I'm sure was a disheartening loss, Dennis clearly went out of his way, during the post-match handshake, to smile widely and give Filler some positive feedback for a match well played. I've always liked the fact that in the post-match handshake, pro tennis players nearly always chat a little bit and exchange a few pleasantries. In pool, it's not often that way at the top level of competition, but it should be.

2 of the best breakers in this year's event fighting it out now. (Ko with 5 B&R vs Lechner and Filler with 4 B&R v Orcollo)
Filler hung 2 ball after poor safety by Ko.
Ko leads 1-0

Ko scratches after horrible safety attempt on 3 ball. Filler ties it 3-3. It is race to 4
Filler is probably best punisher of errors in the business
