2022 World Snooker Championship (Apr 16th - May 2nd)

Higgins story is he felt threatened and agreed for his safety. At least that is the way I remember it.

Isn't John Higgins they guy who was caught on video agreeing to fix matches? What's the angle on letting that guy play?
He was there with the Russians on video. He got a pass imo. However he didn’t seem 100% complicit and I really don’t care. He’s a hell of a player

O'Sullivan is up 6-3 after being down 0-3. The second session of their match is tomorrow.

I don't see any Day 1 replays available on DAZN right now. I wonder if they will be up later.

Nothing yet. I assume it's a broadcast rights issue. For those of us in a "wrong" time zone, it's really obnoxious.

Selby gets an ugly win 10-7 and is the first player through to Round 2
Later in the tournament the sets get longer I believe. It makes the races in 9 ball seem like nothing. Snooker spectators don't mind a long gruling match, why is it they think pool fans have have such short attention spans?
They now have pros playing races to 4.

In fairness, neither the World 10-ball nor the World Pool Championship has short races. Even in pool, the majors need and provide longer races. That said, neither pool players nor pool fans want championship events that lasts two weeks. Given the size of the payouts, almost nobody would participate.

Were the day to ever come where pool catches on with the fans to the point that event producers can justify paying millions in prize money for a single event, perhaps pool players and fans might subscribe to a two-week long event, but it's hard to imagine that day is coming anytime soon.

How long does Derby last?

How long does Derby last?
Derby is a series of events that lasts nine days. The three core events are the Derby City Banks, the Derby City One Pocket and the Derby City 9-ball and they run one after the other.

Have to admit I'm always exhausted by the end of the Derby. Many players play in just one of the disciplines, but the most elite usually play in all of them.

Its shown on matchroom but you have to pay twice. It's unbelievable. I've been a Matchroom.live subscriber for years and today I am going to unsubscribe. It's crazy to me that I pay monthly without even watching for half of the year and yet when a snooker tournament comes out they say its not with my package and I must pay more.....the hell with them I'm going to unsub then why on earth they taking money from me monthly???

So my package isn't good enough for them, I must pay for the monthly sub + the snooker daily entry fee's or whatever it was, even if its a penny I ain't going to cave down to their greed. UNSUB today and I'll watch for free on the pirated streams. Yes I am going to this route because they made me.

I am going to do the same out of principle. I bought DAZN for a year for $100, which is a great deal.

If you have a VPN a better option is Discovery + which archives matches on demand for I believe 9 months. Apparently there is talk that it will be merged with HBO +

It is garbage and guess what, never worked in Australia....
As, old mate Murdoch has rights sown up with Foxsports but never bothers showing Snooker..
So, get Nord VPN like me, go to BBC iPlayer site, hook up your laptop to your TV via HDMI cable and enjoy the best coverage.
Easy.

Ronnie is giving it a good crack this year.
He is very hungry for this title.
He still has the game, is super fit physically and mentally.
Back to World #1

Now he has the first round done, he usually motors on more after the second round and either player suits his game there. So, I expect him to cruise to Quarter finals.

As BeiberLvr points out, Zhao might be an opponent and one to fear IMO.
He is awesome on full flight.
