Well Brecel had the mental under control in the chair but when Si final leaves an opening he gets to 38 and misses an easy pink.
Whew a second chance in the frame is a lifeline. Whew that should help Brecel to center himself. 5-9
 
The other hand opener by Si gets a little commenting. Mostly to the change in times and no difference in appearance.
I didn't invent it but have been preaching it.🤷

Back in the day we had a top player in the Northwest that was of the same stature as Si and he was The Ghost as he was so slender you might not see him. So Grey Ghost would be my suggestion.

yes and it's not just that he can shoot the occasional shot lefty, he can shoot them hard and with sidespin, middle of the pocket. maybe naturally ambidextrous

Ambitious over ambidextrous was the way I got there. Practice Practice Practice.
 
Si just showed he's less than perfect. However what he puts on display can trigger The Fear Factor. Brecel gets to 31 and just slightly miss. Uh oh.
 
"It doesn't matter when you run out of position when you can pot like this." Is the comment as Si gets started closing out the final frame..... Oops snooker required but not closed.
Stephen Hendry pronounced cueball control as the key to winning this event perhaps Mental control is the better choice.
11-5 goes into the books.
 
The Rock and Roll leaves me wide awake at 4:30 AM and 2 hours till the Chamber music. No chance for a nap now:shrug:

Upon further review: It was the 7th attempt that Si hit safeishly. When extraction from trap was required. The first 2 went either side of the brown. After that he had the 2 data entry's and calculated. My opinion is that from there it was fine tuning on the strike to the cueball.(the gearing) Would have come quicker looking at the strike on the white. But don't ask me:shrug: ask Stephen Hendry.

He has missed too many escapes from snookers and it seems to be a weak spot.

His match vs Ronnie was my first time watching, but I'd agree with your assessment from what I've seen.

While he did play well at the end of that match to win, I'm pretty sure Ronnie being visibly tired and playing his worst was a bigger factor.
 
Every player has an on/off switch. Some are just more sensitive than others. Like a light switch that a finger can flip or the high voltage breaker that takes the full body weight. The high voltage Si is putting on display can burn out light weight breaker switch.
 
yea really only seen si having a bad session against the scotsman whose name i always forget. in the QF. brecel is definitely not as consistent
 
Do the equipment rules forbid carbon fiber, plastic ferrules, etc? Or do the pros just prefer the traditional ash shafts? I'm surprised Predator or other US based companies don't seem to make any equipment.
 
The large eyes and camera work make Mark Allen's eye pattern available for observation. Mark Selby is a little harder to read.
