2026 AZ Billiards Straight Pool Challenge!

Your stance at the table caused you to miss that shot. I could tell you were indecisive in your body language. Didn't need to be that elevated. Same results could be had with a lowered stance. Don't change horses. Go with your first instinct. My worthless opinion. 😉
Hard to tell angles, but I wouldn't go into the balls without hitting low. That is why I questioned possibly just playing position and using a level cue. I hit the point though, so not like I missed by much.

I don't think so. I just record most of the time. I just only post if I run like 50. I don't record when I have say only an hour to spare. I think through things a bit better when not recording I think though.
Appreciate the reply. I've always wondered how much, if any, cams affect outcomes.

Posted a 34 during a league match. 9’ Diamond Pro-Am.

Sad part - run ended when I tipped the CB during practice stroke.

I ran 49 in my first game of league on 07/23/2026. New high run this year. 600 Fargo (2478 robustness). I probably could have gotten 60+ if I hadn't missed a relatively easy cut. 😭

8 foot table at Volcano's in Hurst, TX.

Really think I am on to something here. Using an open bridge more and getting down to where my chin hits my stick. I think I see the shot line better this way. Played well 3 days in a row using this.

24th August ran 53 on 9' Predator Apex with a worn cloth, tight pockets and bouncy rails. Scratched in the side from the foot rail when the English grabbed and rail bounced like a SOB. Blah.

I finally bought a tripod (Amazon basics) for my phone so maybe I have a change to post some videos as well. Also the basic requirement is to be able to make a decent run when taping. Lol.

Just scored 51. By far, my best run. Never came close to a third rack before this. Only been trying about a month or so.
8' Kasson table. No Fargo rating.

Started playing 14.1 three years ago, made a 29 within a couple of weeks. For three years I've made more 25–28 runs than I can count, but today I finally got over 30 points, with a run of 41 balls.
9 foot Olio Brunswick GC-type table, 4,5-ish pockets.

Only 42 balls, but interested in takes on the ending. Did I hit the 8 first? I did not expect to scratch. I guess if you are hitting the top of the rack, never hit below center? What a brutal ending.

I'm not sure what you were doing with deciding on in/out for the rack. You need to have the outline of a triangle drawn on the table, even if the table is tapped/trained/donutted. It is that outline that determines in/out of the rack. Use a normal triangle for drawing the outline.

I do have an outline. Maybe you can't see it. There is a pencil outline rack. It was out of the rack. That wasn't a question. I even say that in the video. I just wasn't sure I could make it. Using a template, just because it is outside the rack, doesn't mean you can make it hitting it first. I guess you are saying most people just use a regular triangle to determine the rack, and not the rack of balls themselves? I will have to think on that. What I did made sense to me. That seems artificial to me. If there is no physical rack, why use that outline?

Because some break balls that are not touching the new rack are impossible to pocket directly. A triangle outline ensures that all break balls will be pottable. It's a rule.

I guess this comes from never actually going out and playing someone in an actual poolroom. Bob is correct. If you check the comments on your video you'll see I pointed out the same thing.

I also mentioned your pace of play. It's painfully slow which makes watching very difficult. You play fairly good but I think speeding up would help you play better. Also, which I've mentioned before, you need to get the camera angle higher up and closer to the table. Either from the foot of the table or the side. As viewers, we can't see angles very well and as such, are unable to offer cogent advice.

Ok. Thanks. I didn't know it was a rule. Donuts to me at least are a new thing. They make sense to me. I will use an outline of a regular rack next time I get my table redone, or maybe before then. I am just not sure about erasing a line or adding another one.
