$2500 Added Open Event 3/27-28 @ The Break Cahokia Illinois

No snow

Hi Mark,

I'm going to try to make it down this weekend if it doesn't snow again, like last week

Darryl

It might rain. But doubt the temps fall below 40 degrees.

It snowed in Quincy last weekend about 3 inches but not 40 miles South of Quincy.

It is 68 right now.
Little rain forecasted but that is about all.:eek:

Should have a decent turnout at this event.

Anyone coming to the break tournament and wants to match up let me know this is jimmy eberhart and i will match up with anyone someway.

Call me if you get any takers?

Anyone coming to the break tournament and wants to match up let me know this is jimmy eberhart and i will match up with anyone someway.

It only takes me 25 minutes to get there, driving the speed limit and my personal calendar is open Friday Night and Saturday til after the auction.

Then again on Sunday and Monday.

That is right, it is time again for another event at the Break in Cahokia Illinois.
This will be a Midwest 9 ball tour event ran by Evelyn and Danny Dysart, the player auction and sign ups will be accepted up until 11 a.m. on Saturday morning 3/27.

There will also be a Ladies tournament.

Race to 9 alternate break. double elimination.

I think the entry fee is $50 bucks plus quarters.

If you like Food, Terry and the gang break out huge steak dinners for less than 20 bucks, if you are on a budget you can get a sloppy joe for $3 bucks.

I anticipate a high turn out and a great calcutta. But, you have to get up early on Saturday.

See you there.:grin::grin::grin::grin:

I think entry is only $35 + quarters.

I guess saying this is going to be a GREAT tournament

Should be a great tournament.

In a unrelated thread I compared the Indy tourney to this event.

That was said to be negative? I suggest you stay off the special sauce.

I will be at the Break for the calcutta, then again LATE Sunday night to watch the finals.

Still recommend this event. Close to home.:eek::eek:

im looking forward to this weekend. I finally took off of work to play. Gotta love The Break Tourney. I hope there is some decent action this time. There is always the standard 5-10/man ring game, haha. Hopefully Jimmy or Justin can stir something up worth sweating.

connection

There is no wifi or internet at The Break. If you want to see it, you have to be there.

I believe that if someone has a Blackberry or iPhone that they can use this to act as a broadband connection and could stream the video. You simply need a laptop, the proper cell phone and plan, as well as the USB connector. Correct me if I am wrong. I think I may have all of the above....

Payouts...

It's too bad this tournament falls on the same weekend as the Brickyard Classic in Indianapolis. The Brickyard tournament will pay more than this one by quite a bit. I always enjoy Terry's tournament but it makes more economic sense to go to Indy.

The only way the Brickyard pays out more if there is more in the Calcutta. If there is someone as "savvy" as Brian running the Calcutta at the Break it could be just as lucrative.

Matchups

Anyone coming to the break tournament and wants to match up let me know this is jimmy eberhart and i will match up with anyone someway.

I will try you some next week. My pockets are leaking right now. Perhaps after I snap off this event I may try you some this weekend. I will play banks or ten ball.

A weak "C" player to win the event

I am fairly certain that I am in luck as it is March and being part Irish as well as my birthday month...I am almost guaranteed to win!

Driving over for the auction

Sign ups approaching 32 and it is only Friday night.

Should be a GREAT Tournament.

Auction at 11:30.

Be there if you have any money.

:smile::smile::smile:

Might be some tough choices as to whom to buy and who to let fly.

About 70 players showed up

I'll be by sometime today to watch all the great matchups! Hopefully tomorrow too!

One player I did NOT see was Gary Lutman, guess he headed for Indy.

About 70 players signed up for the open and I think they had 12 in the ladies event.

Andy Quinn and Jimmy Eberhardt were the blind bids, with Dustin Dunham being picked 3rd by wha.

I bought a few other players and hope to at least get even?

No partner this weekend, so I am living large and on my own. Wish me luck.
I also purchased Steve Boucher, and 3 other players or 4? Lost my sheet will have to check tomorrow but I know Dustin and Steve are both in the WINNERs bracket.

Auction pays 8 players, so lets think positive.

Oh Ribeyes are 18 bucks and you get a salad and baked potatoe. The Steak feeds 2 so bring a friend.;)

Yeah guess Gary had visions of a grander scale but from the posts of the Indy tournament he didn't make the final 16.

Personally I would rather be the 3rd best player in one tournament 6 miles from my house than the 22 best player in another 280 miles away - I'm just sayin.

Probably needed 4th place to break even.

Play at home, entry fee, quarters, cheaper calcutta.

Reward. Sure it is less but? the loss side is more probable on a road trip.

9 p.m. is the estimated Finals time @ the break tonight
Andy Quinn beat Dustin Dunham 9-5 to advance to the final 2
Sager was playing Boucher to advance to the final 2.
Go figure, I have Dunham and Boucher.
