Can't do a search, damn phone.
Are 3/8 by 10 and 3/8 by 10 modified interchangeable?
What are the differences?

Thank you

Depends ion who you ask. I use the so called 3/8-10 modified, which pretty much means nothing except that it has a flat minor(bottom) rather than a normal V. Most have a .308" minor. The ones I use have a .312" minor. I drill shafts with a 5/16" bit and they'll fit any 3/8-10 in the world that I know of. Shafts with a smaller hole won't fit mine, and some won't even fit the .308" minor.

^^^^^ what he said, except, I use the .308 minor, so my shafts don't fit the normal 3/8 without opening the hole to .312. A normal 3/8 shaft drilled to .312 should fit a modified.

Exactly. My 3/8x10 screws like McDermott have a .281 minor. My tap and hole are definately different.

3/8 10

I use a .302 minor but drill with a carbide "N" bit, like the tighter feel.
