3 things you would change about pool

I would ban asking what three things should be changed. ;) Seriously, why keep asking about things that will never happen. Live in 'the now' and don't worry about minutia like this.
I would ban people complaining about a topic when they can just ignore the thread and not reply

check out ultimate pool. i don't think the best pro players would find it very determinative, but it does seem to satisfy the needs for those who love 8-ball and big pockets. even i find it entertaining from time to time
the very best 8ball i ever watched was on valleys in vnea masters, some really incredible run outs from some hard spots that come up

Because they don't play much if any straight pool. Rotation games such as 9 and 10 ball, you only need approximate position most of the time. In straight pool you need more exact position on the key ball and break ball, which often needs more cheating the pocket.
Very true, but also when you only play on brand new cloth as they always do, it’s far more forgiving. Try hitting the rail several inches up from the pocket on cloth that’s had a week or so of play and it’s not getting in the hole like it does for pros with fresh cloth that plays like glass because those tv lights keep the table dry. Without these pristine conditions they’d be far more mortal on 4” pockets.

Have you watched ultimate pool USA? Some of the outs are really impressive, and I'm not easily impressed. Id like to see some more pros give it a try. Its no doubt a different game, just like 9 ball and one pocket are different games. Imagine watching Gorst vs Filler in barbox 8 ball.

1 - Make all new cloth play like broken in cloth. Very few people enjoy the first week of new cloth and it's really a different game

2 - Alternate break for everything. To come in line with all major sports, closer matches, increase fairness and to reduce overall importance of the break shot and reward overall ability more

3 - 4 inch pockets as maximum size for all professional play and 4.5 standard for amateur. Misses create pressure and excitement

Honorable mention to using chess clocks to manage match times and slow play. Ie each player starts with 30 mins and add 30 secs every time the players swap chairs. Better than a shot clock and can be run without a ref

What about your 3?
1 _ get back to 2 shot roll-out ( i think that's what it's called) in 9 ball....
2_ jump shots NOT ALLOWED
3_No slop shots-call your shots-all games

disappear bar tables
only jump with your playing cue, cannot use your break cue to jump
allow pushout after break, ball in hand in kitchen after foul and spot balls pocketed if foul occurs

What is this obsession with ball in hand only in the kitchen? Allows for ticky-tacky intentional fouls when opponent has balls only in the kitchen. Totally disagree. Fouls are to be punished not rewarded in certain circumstances.

give opponent the option of kicking at object ball of having object spotted if all balls are in the kitchen

1. 20 sec shot clock every match
2. 20 sec shot clock every match
3. 20 sec shot clock every match

When I say "every" I mean every match. Even the local weekly tournament and 1 on 1 gambling match.
