$3000 cue or not?

Anthony, the cue looks pretty nice. My only reservations would be, The cue builder is from the Phillipines. That's not a bad thing but if you have problems with the cue, it could make things difficult in getting them resolved. One other thing is he wants his payment via wire trasfer. I would guess that it's gonna cost you about $30-$40 to wire money to the Phillipines using Western Union. That along with the shipping could add close to $100 to the sell price. Just a few things to consider.

On another note, Has your wife had that baby yet? If so, you're gonna have to bring it down to Moreland and let me and Nadene take a look. Don't be such a stranger.

if you are going to spend $3000, i'd make sure it has sustaining value. it seems, any new cuemaker can make something fancy, and charge outrageous prices without paying his dues.
 
Cue Value

Some Of Those Cues Are Very Nice, But Are Definetly Not 3000.00 Cues. It Takes More Than Lots Of Inlays To Make A Cue Valuable. If You Want A Flashy Cue To Shoot With Go For It, But Don't Think You're Getting A 3000.00 Cue. They Are Awesome For The Money As Long As They Stay Together. I'd Also Be Worried That It Won't Play Well.
 
He has good feedback. The one person that left negative feedback was trying to get a replacement shaft that was sent and recieved to the buyers satisfaction. Seems everyone who left feedback was cue buyers and liked what they got.
 
$500 ? hmmm...

Hmmm... i may not even buy the cue for $500. Not that it's not good... it probably is.

Just that I've seen several cues that look really similar floating around in the pool hall where i play... and I know who made them and how much they were sold for.

Lots of Amboyna, lots of ivory, Dupont finish.

Got tons of ivory alright.
You better contact the seller. Talk to him about cues. I got some info that the guy is not a cuemaker but finances the thing. He has his cues made by other people from other shops too
 
I see that the cue sold for $530. Seems too cheap for a cue that is custom made plus I don't think that a custom cue's weight should be adjusted by changing a bolt. I feel that a custom cue is made to give a desired balance point and then the weight is distributed to keep this point.
