I just converted to the Taom chalk, and didn't like the round shape. I made a square box closer to Masters. The hole at the bottom is to push the chalk out with a finger.
I wasn’t sure how this chalk wears. I had another design where the chalk could be flipped and put in the other side of the holder with a shallower lip for thinner chalk.Very nice. I would have made it half as high. I have a holder now and I wish it only grabbed half the chalk for when it wears down.
Could print a spacer to go under the chalk...Very nice. I would have made it half as high. I have a holder now and I wish it only grabbed half the chalk for when it wears down.
I made some changes. New on the left, old on the right. I added a lip at the bottom for a better grip. I also made the hole to push the chalk out much smaller. My finger was slipping inside while chalking, and it was bothering me. Now you need a pencil or a key to push the chalk out.
Both changes make it more comfortable to use, but it's still not as good as Master's. The material is too slippery.

If bambu's slicer has a fuzzy skin setting, try that first. If not, make it out of TPU.I made some changes. New on the left, old on the right. I added a lip at the bottom for a better grip. Thanks! I never heard of that. I found the setting and a quick video on it. I'll try it now.If bambu's slicer has a fuzzy skin setting, try that first. If not, make it out of TPU.
Also interested...I would buy one..
I was going to suggest wrapping the slick one with a Masters label....The fuzzy skin worked great. WAY better grip. I like the one now without the lip, with the fuzzy skin.
Have you tried snap joints yet for fitting the two halves together?I made some changes. New on the left, old on the right. I added a lip at the bottom for a better grip. Nice.Nice. I did a Masters holder to account for people who use the entire chalk. Makes it easier to hold when the cube gets thin. Made for a pocket chalker.
This is just one piece, the chalk slips in from one end.Have you tried snap joints yet for fitting the two halves together?
Just the 'corners' to make the round cube square without adding bulk to all sides....Nice.
I was also thinking of something like yours, with just a few fingers coming down instead of surrounding the whole circle (of the taom). The taom is actually a bit larger diameter than the masters is square.
