I just converted to the Taom chalk, and didn't like the round shape. I made a square box closer to Masters. The hole at the bottom is to push the chalk out with a finger.

Very nice. I would have made it half as high. I have a holder now and I wish it only grabbed half the chalk for when it wears down.
Could print a spacer to go under the chalk...

We really need a retracting design if we're going properly overboard.

I made some changes. New on the left, old on the right. I added a lip at the bottom for a better grip. I also made the hole to push the chalk out much smaller. My finger was slipping inside while chalking, and it was bothering me. Now you need a pencil or a key to push the chalk out.

Both changes make it more comfortable to use, but it's still not as good as Master's. The material is too slippery.

If bambu's slicer has a fuzzy skin setting, try that first. If not, make it out of TPU.

Super cool! These are awesome. I can find similar on Taobao, but making your own is really bad ass. Good work!
You could stick something magnetic in the bottom? I wouldn't make it halve as high, as someone suggested, but I would certainly slightly lower the height. It wears incredibly slowly in my experience, and because of the round shape, it's more accessible due to having no corners that need reaching. I don't think it's necessary to halve the size.

Try printing it n TPU...you will get a much better grip and I think it makes the holder more durable....and the fuzzy skin setting does help...I think it looks better as well.

I posted pics in the Taom thread a while back..I make one I call the comfort grip....I actually make it for all chalk types....it has finger indents on the side...also has a press fit cover for when in case...

Currently working on a magnet design with clip.

Nice. I did a Masters holder to account for people who use the entire chalk. Makes it easier to hold when the cube gets thin. Made for a pocket chalker.

Have you tried snap joints yet for fitting the two halves together?

Nice.

I was also thinking of something like yours, with just a few fingers coming down instead of surrounding the whole circle (of the taom). The taom is actually a bit larger diameter than the masters is square.

Just the 'corners' to make the round cube square without adding bulk to all sides.... ;)
