3rd Alex vs Shane set going off now on PPV

Alex went and got another $5K and is going to flip the coin again. It is 6:40AM I look for them to start in the next 30 minutes.

If you missed out on the first set you can still catch the second one by going to www.theactionreport.com and buying the PPV for $15.

Shane won the first one tonight 25-22 and they are going again. How can you beat it. TAR you guys are amazing and I just can't thank you enough for all of this. You are the best. And go Shane!

I watched all 12 hours of it with a 30 mins nap in the middle of the third set.

Needless to say, my sleep patterns are all ****ed up.

Thankfully I didn't bet on this game, 'cause I would have bet all 3 sets on the wrong guy.

In the third set Alex was breaking almost as well as Shane.

Shane played better safeties, and Alex didn't kick his A kicking game. Not surprising: that's what poker does to people.

Anyway, I still think Alex is a tad bit of a better pattern player and shotmaker. I'm sure a lot of people will jump on me for saying that.

That last 8 ball Alex shot was painful. He jumped a mile up in the air...pressure. This is from a guy that's supposed to have more heart than anyone else.

His 9/10 ball game still impresses me more than that of any player in the world that I've seen.

Can anyone tell me why Alex didn't go a couple rails with follow on his last shot (8 ball)?

He stunned it and that's what made 'em undercut the ball.

Then Shane won both back to back sets 25 to 22 on the second day?

7 games difference

Shane is only 7 ahead of alex. That proves how close of a game this really is. I think we will be in for a suprise when they play the race to 100.

Yeah, and Shane keeps winning also! I bet 500 on him the first two sets. On the third set, the side action had dried up.

Shane has been in alot more action than Alex lately. I understand that these two play awfully close, but perhaps Shane is edging him out at the end because he has been under the gun alot more than Alex lately. Agree? Disagree? Why?
 
I have a few questions, though I was there at DCC watching most of these matches.

What is this talk of them doing a race to 100? Is Alex Shane's next Action Challenger? I don't see anything about this one their site....

I thought the first set they play for $10k. How much was each set played for really? Sounds like either way Shane had quite a nice week's work.

disagree. i think he edges him out because he's a better player. not a knock on pagulayan, he has a very strong all around game. but shane has that extra bit. he rifles in those long impossible shots better than anybody else, and has the best break on the planet. that's what makes the difference.
 
Shanes break was the biggest difference in this match to me...
He made balls and controlled his cue ball much more often than Alex did.

Were there other factors? YES

Shane is more battle tested in the last few months which played a role in the outcome, as well as Shane getting the majority of the rolls in both sets i watched.

Hopefully Alex will be more prepared for their race to 100 in March. Otherwise he will be donating to Shane IMO

I don't see how anyone that watched this matchup could say that Shane is a clear cut favorite. Unless it is based on Shane ability to break better than Alex.

Alex won't be donating either way.

He was obviously out of form in the three sets they played and almost beat 'em all three sets. It was that close! Amazing.

Shane has the better break, no doubt about that.

Gabe says Shane has got a slightly "purer stroke" --- which I don't see but who am I to argue with him --- and alex out-kicks and out-moves Shane.

The funny thing is in the third set Alex finally got the measure of the break and was breaking at least as well as Shane. What really did it was Shane played safe better, which is the most surprising thing the world has ever known.

Call me stubborn but I still have Alex in a race to 100 though I wouldn't bet because the match is too close. But on one condition: Alex has to stop playing poker and start hitting balls.

I gotta agree with Lewdo here. The break and shot making skills Shane brings to the table are strong. I'm mean U.S. Open Champion strong. Alex can't top that but Alex plays jam up safes and kicks that net results to his favor. Alex also has the heart of a Lion which is no small part in the reasoning in the make up of his nick name.

P.S. The word on the chat (though I don't no if it was true or not) was that in the last set, it was all Alexs money. Alex must be confident with his chances as well. :cool:
