4 ball carom ?

A 4 ball game is popular in Japan and Korea. It is usually played on a 4 x 8.

I have been trying to figure that out for over a year now. I'm a pool room owner and have the Carom table. A customer said to me "you don't have the blue ball?" I said "what blue ball?". Then the hunt began. I finally got the Blue 61.5mm Carom ball from Saluc in Belgium, but to this day, I cannot find anyone that knows how it is played. If you find out, please let me know!!!! Thanks.....Dave

In the USA I have seen Koreans playing on 4x8, and have played with them. From reading on the internet I am told that in Japan they also play on a 4x8, but also play on a 4.5 x 9. On the 4x8 in both countries they play 4 ball, in Japan on the 4.5x9 they play 4 ball and they also play 42/2 balkline game using three of the fourballs. Keep in mind both sets of tables rails are geared for the 65mm size balls. Here is a clip of a video on youtube:

I am pretty sure the fella in the video is playing on a 9 footer in the famous "Big Box" in Tokyo. He also plays on a regular 10 foot too.

The old version of 4-ball billiards is in this 1914 Rule Book, but I don't think it's the same as the game played in Korea and Japan. I've heard that in one form of the Asian game, the opponent's cue ball is poison, but in the beginners' version any carom is allowed.
