4 pieces or more cue to fit in hand carry bag

We made a case for Fred Agnir, Cornerman, that could possibly fit in a carry on bag. However you probably will not be allowed to board a plane in the United States with a pool cue no matter how many sections it's in.

Naji, do a Search for 3 pieces cues. There is a thread on travel cues.
Someone has a few pics in the thread. A very nice 3 piece travel cue and case. It would fit in any average size suitcase.

they dont allow pool cues on planes because it could be used as a weapon....in the right hands
But they do allow canes...go figure. A buddy of mine is a retired American pilot. He was one of the that carried in the cockpit. For those curious, he carried a SIG in .40 S&W caliber. Yep...he carried that, but he couldn't carry a small 3 bladed pocketknife I gave him.

I could stab an eye out with a broken plastic fork or by unscrewing a cover plate for an ashtray in the armrest I can have a impromptu razor blade. The spring that holds the seatback pouch against the chair can be deadly. Many shoes have a metal spike running through the sole for support. Cayenne pepper and alcohol makes nasty pepper spray. A filed down credit card can easily sever an artery. A ball point pen can save your life with an emergency tracheotomy and puncture a lung just as easily. The spine of a book can break your fingers in a heartbeat. You'd be surprised what you can make a weapon out of. Get some oil onto a portable medical oxygen bottle and watch what happens (from a good distance).
I think the TSA is just run by someone who got into a bad game and lost his house. Not my fault.
My travel cue built by Sheldon Lebow is in 3 equal length pieces and is sized and balanced the same as my normal playing cue (Schuler). Anyone who has ever shot with this cue has been impressed. It fits in the 23 1/2" custom case made by John Barton (JBIdeas) and shown in this thread. The case has shoulder straps so ive been taking the combo to the pool hall when im on the bike. Unlike others I've heard that have a similar cue, I shoot quite a bit with this one. If I could get it wrapped, I'd prolly make it my main shooter.
The case fits in my 24" roller luggage. So, the case can go in a carry on. It doesn't fit in my spinner roller as the dimensions just won't take the case.
As others have already said however, in the US you cannot carry on the cue on a plane. In my case (punny) I got the whole package to have the cue for the motorcycle and for less conspicuous air travel.
The Poison company has recently come out with a similar 3piece travel cue. A couple other AZers had the same type of 3piece travel cues built by Sheldon years before I did (Lou Figueroa and Alex Kanapilly).

Sheldon is your man. The 3 piece he made for me plays great. He matched the weight, length, shaft diameter and balance point of my custom player. I pack the 3 piece inside my luggage and check it in when I travel to the Philippines.
One suggestion. DONT BREAK WITH IT!
Case was made by Brian Bonner. Im pretty sure he is out of the case making business now. I also made a soft case for the 3 piece. Just took a long soft case and cut it down and sewed the end. The soft case is actually better to pack in luggage, but provides less pretection.

Thanks to all that replied. I will check the 3 piece cue.
The most efficient way to use your soft case and get the protection would be to go to the hardware store and find the right diameter tubing to hold the soft case with cues. Buy just enough to fit the cue. At home duct tape one end securely and put a little padding in it. On the other end make yourself a duct tape lid that you can close with one strip of duct tape. Flip the end of the strip in on itself so that you can have a tab to pull the strip up when you want to open the case. That whole thing will then fit in your luggage neatly and provide excellent protection against pressure.
