4 The Meucci haters ;)

I agree that Bob is a very nice guy. That does not speak to the production quality and customer service issues that have been prevalent for the past MANY years. It is undeniable that these things happened...for whatever reasons. It remains to be seen whether any real changes have been made, and whether the buying public is willing to "forgive and forget".

I hope he has corrected the problem and if he can make cues like the originals everything will be fine.

You're preaching to the choir here. There have been hundreds, if not thousands of dissatisfied customers and dealers of Meucci cues over the past two decades. You are not Meucci Cues customer service. You are a dealer who represents them, but any problems with one of their cues is still dependent on them correcting the problem, at the factory. AFAIK, you don't make repairs yourself (correct me if I am wrong). They have done shoddy work, both in construction, and repairs of cues, now for many years. Just because you claim you've never seen one does not make it so to the general buying public. If you researched Meucci here you would find at least dozens of threads, with hundreds of posts, detailing problems and unresolved issues. Just curious, but how long have you been a Meucci dealer?

Scott I totally agree with you. Pool players have very long memories when it comes to being screwed over. So I don't think Meucci will ever fully recover and that's a shame because at one time they did make some really nice cues.

I'm ducking for cover now...
I think they still make really nice cues! :embarrassed2:
Everybody seems to judge them on cosmetics? I'll take a shooter any day! They play real good imo.

When I need it, I can get more chit on the cue ball with a Meucci, then I can with anything else I have ever played with. That is the truth as I tell it!
;)

Frank...I'm not saying you can't get a good playing Meucci. It's been "hit or miss" with many of their cues, for a long time...and that's putting it mildly for some folks! Glad you got one you like. BTW...you're smart enough to know that the "juice" comes from the stroke...not the stick! LOL I know what you mean about "feelin' like it does" though! LOL

Anyone can come back. It doesn't matter what your past problems were if you fix them then you can redeem yourself in the eyes of consumers. People love redemption stories, they cheer for the guy who picked himself up and reformed into someone good.

It's the basis of 90% of the movies made.

Meucci has had some rough patches but they also do have quite a legacy. And the fact which cannot be erased is that Meucci cues have been used to win a LOT of titles. So they can build on that legacy going forward and if the customers and dealers are satisfied then all should be good.

After all we are all still talking about them aren't we?

Absolutely....I think right now they're way back.

Scott, I've been a Meucci dealer for a year. Yes, just a year. I know they've had rough times and they've let alot of people down and haven't been the best at fixing their image. I said I was Meucci customer service because they don't have one, and that to me means if I want to market their cues, then I have to be the link between the customer and the company. But then again, I also feel that way about every company I represent. I'm the dealer, I'm the one customers are in contact with...not my suppliers. Personally, I don't think Meucci should have a publicly available number.

But in this one year, I've seen and heard all the negativity, but have not had a single complaint. Maybe I'm just lucky, ..

This is Bob and I holding my 98% mint condition Meucci Chess cue from the very first catalog. Bob was blown away at the condition of it and in all honesty I think he wanted to buy the cue but I quickly told him that it was not for sale. I hope yall enjoy this picture.

Meucciman-What does Bob have to say about all the negative comments and the general feeling that his cues are sub par? You defend him quite nicely.
But what are his thoughts or does he not care about this forum and what seems to be a constant attack on him and his products.

Actually the Chess "inlays" are barely inlays at all. Its a series of rings arranged and sized to create the chest pieces. There maybe a few inlays for the head of the bishop or the cross, but if you look its just oriented ring work. But very clever for the time.

JV

that wont happen, to much work involved

I recently moved to Memphis, do they have tours at the Meucci factory?

Ken

if bob is there he more than likely give you a personaly guided tour himself.

i do not visit that place often but the last time i was there bob talked to me for about an hour giving me a tour and we talked about a lot of stuff, not all pool related. he is just a very friendly guy.

Bob know's nothing of this forum other than what I tell him. He is not to much in to computers. How ever he did say that he wished that at least 10% of the people that trash Meucci's name due to "the bad run" would come to the factory, play some pool, take a tour and see what is being done in the present. Then they would be turned around on their opinion!
