4th cue blue book?

Well if they are, it seems they had better update their values. Here's a statement from Jerry Rauenzahn's web site, on his prices page:
"When I purchased the 3rd Edition Blue Book of Pool Cues published in 2005, I discovered that the pricing of my cues was not accurate nor current. I realized that, while gathering information, the publishers used pricing from the 2nd Edition, which was published in 1999. Since the time of that pricing, the value of my cues has risen dramatically. Therefore, when considering a ?Rauenzahn Cue?, please keep in mind the prices reflected in the 3rd Edition Blue Book of Cues are nearly ten years old and should not be used as a guide for retail or re-sale value of Rauenzahn cues."
I have been in many collectibles for a long time. i even published a magazine on collectible prices years ago. It's hard to get it perfect because the market swings wildly. But for the perspective of a current cue maker, I can see how he would want a correct representation of price in the book. Heck, all the editors have to do is ask the man.

Its kinda in the works, I spoke to Brad Simpson a few months ago and he knows its time, perhaps a year would be a good guess. There will be another one with better information-he is aware of that.
With the cue market the way it is, whats the use in a book with prices? the prices are here on AZ its the market. A cue Blue Book is a picture book right now anyways. The internet is kinda a replacment for a book.

I'll take a look at the first one tonight when I get home but from what I can remember the only thing lacking from the first one was more photos. I seem to remember the color ones being pretty decent though.

I also think it is good for it's ability to help you spot production model numbers. Prices on cues are only reliable as the buyers desire for a particular cue, but even incorrect blue book values gives you a decent starting point for further research, only for production cues though. I don't think it does real well for customs.
