These are at the point that gets me excited. I can't help but show pictures.

Three are Titlist and two are my points. The pictures are terrible. I need the Wife and her camera to take better pictures.

You can't see but all the inlays are sharp. These are my first attempts at carving the tips of the inlay pockets so the round bit doesn't show. Dark woods are easy it's the light color woods that show the filler around the tips from the bit. Now that I've practiced it enough I'll start doing this to all my cues.

If the owners don't want to show finished pictures I'll post them before sending the cues out.

......................

This was my practice piece when I was fitting the red and Ivory diamond on the Titlist. I cut both inlays out of Maple. Maple shows every flaw.

If you look close you can see the center diamond. I carved the points of this inlay pocket for practice and to test the fit of the pieces. The tips on the inside diamond are sharp. This is the exact inlay on the butt of the Titlist. They came out flawless.

Wendy took these pictures. Can you see the difference? LOL

My friends keep telling me I need to take better pictures.
My thoughts on pictures.

I don't spend lots of time taking and don't worry about making them perfect. When my cues are delivered the they look better then the pictures. It's like when you go out for food and the pictures in the menu are the biggest perfect burger you've ever seen. When the food shows it looks nothing like the picture. Pictures don't show quality. I don't have the time to spend hours taking them. Sorry
If I see flaws in a cue I'll describe them and those will be the pictures I show.

I really really like that simple orange veneered Hoppe cue. Simple and clean. The ring work looks perfect for that cue.

You can't see you cue. I'll let you know when I post the pics so you can choose to look or wait for the surprise. It's like Christmas. You shouldn't peek.

After reading my posts I felt I was a little short when I was talking about pictures.

Like everybody I like looking at nice pictures. It takes time to set up the proper lights and back drop and the pictures don't look any better. I can take 50 pictures and maybe get three good ones. My camera has a mind of it's own.

At this point these cues are .015"-.02" over final size and still need a final turn to finish. I have no idea how nice the inlays or points look until that turn is finished. Some inlays still have glue around them or file marks. To spend hours taking pictures at this point seems pointless. The cue could go in the garbage or get turned into a jump cue very quickly. If it passes my inspection it goes into the paint shop. When it's shinny I take better pictures but I'm still limited to my camera and time.

Pictures are so easy to manipulate they don't mean anything. Nice to look at but don't guarantee the other side of the cue looks as nice. Nothing feels like that first glance of a new cue and it looks ten times nicer then you thought.
