i dont think ive ever seen one...is it even possible? i'm new here so if this was a stupid question i apologize.
thanks

not that i'm aware of. full splice starts square so unless you can find a 5 sided square, its a no go.

it is very, very, very possible. I was the smart guy who argued it not to be possible.

Boy, did that cost me.

It can be done, but it would take a lot of time to jig up and just for a few cues it doesnt make financial sense to the cuemaker or the customer.

thats kind of what i thought, shortly after i was someones bi tch

I saw one by PFD, blank wasn't cut on a saw. It was milled with cnc, how's that for irony. It has been said many times, more than one way to skin the cat. No doubt it required special equipment and programming. Hell of a nice cue.

True that.....my buddy had one of these, too.

Didn't Janes do them? And they were CNC? I could be wrong, maybe they were six point?

I could be way off...it's early.....I need more coffee. :embarrassed2:

anyone got any pics of prior 5 point. i can see milled 3,5,etc short splice but full splice seems abnormal.

I don't think a 5 point with typical bandsaw handle method would work.
A Six pointer would work if someone got a 60 degree v-bit to cut the forearm with.

Hi there,

here's a great six point fullsplice with recuts from Dimitri Komarov of Russia:

His cues play really great!

Here you can see more of his work: http://dbkcues.ru/galleriesen/?lang=en

Enjoy,

How can a full splice have a ring in the middle?

By making a full spliced forearm and attaching it to a handle.
Burton spain made short full spliced forearms. Now some would call that a short splice. But others have called regular v-groove point forearms the short splice so long that I am not sure which is right.

In reference to that top picture, that is one amazing splice. The cuemaker spliced points into a forearm that's not even the same type of wood as the handle. Now THAT my friend is truly amazing. He must have spliced them when they were still growing. I wish I had that kind of patience. Those Russians; whoda thunk it?

Looks like a full splice forearm with a handle on it to me. I mean....we know that's what he does.....

Or am I missing something?
