As I live only about 15 miles from New Iberia, I contacted the seller of the cue listed on eBay for $50,000, and will try to hook up with her to see the cue tonight if possible on her end. Any ideas as to what kind of cue it is? The pics are pretty crappy, and is apparently not marked. I think it may be an early 80's Viking, as not all of them were marked by the Viking logo under the plastic window. I thought possibly a Huebler, but it has a piloted joint. Can anyone clear it up a little better. The Adams and Helmstetters in the BB don't note any with this design. Also, a distinctive feature is the end of the screw. She states that she got it a little before 1985 when her son was born from her sister in Florida, but no one knows what it is. I think she thinks it is really worth alot. Doesn't have any Szamboti look to it either.

Thanks for any assistance. I will try to help her out if I can.

Could be a Jensen? How many cuemakers have came and went since 85?
I'm sorry...jeff did you say something? I tit, I mean I cant hear you..:p

Listen, a few years ago an authenticated Balabushka, the asking price started an $10,000. $50k for THAT undocumented cue, you gotta' be crazy, bud. Nothing personal or insinuated but forget that one - especially without documentation.

I wonder if that comes with a lifetime supply of KY? Better be the new "warms to the touch" stuff for that.....

She posted it that high so that she could get some response as to what kind it is. Then she will decide on an asking price. She has not intention of asking $50,000. Sorry for the confusion. Jensen may be another choice. Thanks.

It looks like a Lishan(thanks Sean) cue made around 15-20 years ago. Copy of Schon.

It's a scam! She's gonna coat you in wax and put you on display!

I saw House of Wax yesterday. Can you tell?

Dang! I shoulda saved the 60k I spent on Jerry Franklin's last SouthWest cue to buy this unknown 'high-quality' cue!

(Or I shoulda bought 30 of the $2000 McDermotts that are for sale on Ebay... at least we wouldn't have to look at the ads anymore!!!)

Watch for my new book: "Turning Your Hard Earned Cash Into Kindling Wood Overnight, While You Sleep!". And remember: You have to buy at least 10 copies to get the full benefit of the coursework in the book!!

I know a guy who has a Skip Weston for sale. Think he wants $6,000 for it. LOL

attention everyone!

Remember guys Ebay had a 10cent listing sale on Tuesday the 27th! I would imagine that the 50k is an atempt to attract attention and maybe idenification.

how can you even say its a rare cue if you dont even know what it is.
some people throw stuff on ebay hoping theres a idiot out there.
other than that this person is a con artist.

Scott,

She contacted me about a month or so ago inquiring as to whether I could authenticate it for her as a Bushka. My reply was that there are better experts for that than me, but unequivocally it is not a Balabushka and it is not of substantial value. And most likely it is a Viking, Helmstetter, or some other imported cue similar in looks to those. Someone here said Lishan...that may be a possibility, too.

Sean

Huh?

I've seen that rounded-pin joint on high-quality Taiwanese cues imported by Ajay in the 70;s - 80's. I doubt that the mentioned cuemakers examined the actual cue - probably just the, rather poor quality, pictures - I'd also like to see their comments in context.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

I agree with SEAN. The add states 50k or best offer. A $5 offer might get it.
