6-6. 3 on the spot. shooting from your pocket. WWYD?

Does anyone know if a kiss spin bamk (sic evidently) on the 3 will go and what happens to the top 2 balls?

Thank you. I'll hold...
I experiment.

My first make after roughly ....8 attempts g or t. 🤷‍♂️

The target for white was the other quadrant and near the opponent pocket. I found multiple sell outs, well over 50%. It's kind of fun though. So I will seek the cueball control after striking the 3 then 2. No special sauce needed for the bank make. 🤷‍♂️ kinda fun and interesting. I might even learn something.

The cueball control endeavor had whitey follow the line the cue is on. The speed and spin got it where it sits......the other 3 might hold a C player 🤷‍♂️ 😉

The various giggles attempts provided entertainment but nothing good. Would definitely be a hit em hard and wish em well shot for me. 🤷‍♂️
So in the interest of gauging, I made 1 attempt at my choice of bank the 1 ball for my side pocket (area) and control the white rock.

Yep, yep I submit that one for a grade. 😉

My first choice is to hit the three forcing it off of the two/one and aiming for the short rail point. If I fail to make it I can be in the jaws at the right speed.

Second choice is to ignore the "rule" kicking at the two/three junction to pocket the three ball again.

What I actually do is sell out a bank on the three with my first idea and sell out multiple balls with my second idea. So far I like Iusedto's idea best. Easy execution to a level that would work for most people. None of the ideas are bad if executed perfectly. The issue is shots dropping under fifty-fifty for most people and I am really looking for a 70% plus shot. Executed well Iusedto's shot leaves nothing. Executed not so well it still doesn't leave much and may tease your opponent into a low percentage shot. You are probably going to have to risk a little to get your opponent to come out and play.

I got to know Artie real well about a year before he played John (another great friend/mentor who I met in 85). I’ve been very very lucky to have known and been friends with some of the greatest people in pool.

Artie got interested in pool a bit for a couple years back then, Harry as well. At that time I played 8/7 9/8 below Harry. 10/6 was how I played Cotton. (Just for reference) the Cotton game was a bad game at 10/6.

Anyways Artie was helping me with my game, we’d meet about every 10 days or so and we would work on what ever Artie wanted to show me. It was beyond amazing to be there. Why me I often wondered?

I had offered to play Dippy Dave 10 ahead for 10K to 100K a rack(so up to $1M freeze out). He wouldn’t play. The posts are here and on 1P .org of me calling him out to play. Game offered was take what you make on the break 8B. I didn’t like my chances playing 1P or banks. Artie liked my 8B game so we worked on that the most. We wanted to get that game down-wow. Dave had the $, I had the $ and Artie loved it! I was ready to bet!

Game never went down, not sure why. No disrespect to Dip, he didn’t want to play. He was kinda done by that point. He was poker full time again. It would have been great!

Lunch at my house one day. This pic hasn’t been published before. I don’t post many pics.

Cotton matches the table cloth😂😃. (I spent more time playing him that any other living person over a 3 year period). He taught me how to bank. Which another 2 years later I’d have played Dip banks as well, but I wasn’t ready yet when I tried to get the big game down.

What a great time 😃

Best

Probably because you didn't "qualify" as he put it;)

Just a bit off topic but I was pleasantly surprised to find this match that's just a day old on youtube. Not sure when it was played.
