What? When, where? John was contemplating trying it on an 8-footer if he didn't do it on a 9-footer, but I've never heard of him trying for the record on an 8-footer.

Nothing is the same
The table
The cloth
The balls
The weather
The chalk
and on and on...
If you can't say "Good Shooting", to a guy who ran that many balls, then you are the problem.

I thought he tried on an 8' for a while.

So far as I know he never officially tried for the high run on an 8-foot table. The first and second series of attempts were in Monterey in the same room where he did the 626 and on the same 9-foot Rebco. The third series was in Phoenix at Bullshooters on a 9-foot GC.I thought he tried on an 8' for a while.

I think that dude has a pic of Mosconi on his wall that he goes to sleep by. Serious(and kinda creepy) bromance goin on. Schmidt ran 'em, eos.Lou, you have long had a distaste for john and I think it prevents you from being objective and maybe even rational about the matter.
He ran the balls. Period.
One can't expect today's events to occur in a previous generation.
Just like babe Ruth vs Sammy Sosa.
Kenny Roberts vs Marc Marquez
Jesse Owens vs Usain bolt
The list is virtually unending.
I've seen him twice on small tables at the BCA trade show. Both times he ran 180 (plus or minus a couple of balls) within three tries while I was watching.... I've seen John play 14.1 on 8 footers. He would have ran through 526 like water even easier on an 8' table.

There was some discussion of moving to an 8-foot table if the fourth series was not successful, but that never happened.

For John, an 8-foot table looks easier and he says he feels it is easier.

Not that I've heard of.Did he not set up an 8’ for a while?

This concept that we can use a DVD player to look through a video went out the door idk, 20 years ago. This day and age the video file can be processed and all the edit points automatically located. Some programs call them scene changes as well.
Gunisses would want multiple cameras so they can more easily verify that there are no edits or effects. It's on their website anyways..

All are free to pursue the 627!
