If that was true why did he need to sell pieces of himself to play John Barton?
I thought Lou had his self?
Did John Barton have to have backers or, could John afford to pony up all by himself?

Let he who is without bias cast the first stone.![]()
Balls roll. How long you been doing this? Most pool isn't played on precision equipment. That is part of the challenge.Yep, second break, watch the cue ball. it turns at the end, That's a crappy table to me. So I hope you understand if I don't watch the man make the best of a bad situation.

No, you are the problem because you are not appreciating the finer points involved.
JS had the table specially set up. He didn't walk in and find that table.
Given all else, the cloth was probably just as JS likes it.
The balls are a push.
Who knows about the weather or barometric pressure.
The chalk was to the players personal preferences.
But JS picked the table, Mosconi did not. And JS went at it *for months* with a Sardo and a white-gloved racker and played at the wrong end of the table, and most likely greased up the balls regularly during the run so they'd open up like a bag of split popcorn. Mosconi just kept going one night.
Yah, you're right. Nothing is the same.

JS ran them... but it was a Disneyland run.

give your JS picture
a big wet one tonight![]()

Here is a link to Lou Figueroa in a high run straight pool challenge.
Nice runs of 4, 11 and 30.
Do you think if he had run 500 or 600 more balls on one of these runs he would claim it is invalid?
I know you guys are joking but that's just a testament to the level of play these pros have. I'd actually be pretty pleased with myself if I was consistently running in the 30's. I would think the majority of the pool players I know couldn't shoot 30 change given 3 tries.

First, John is good but I would have expected that long shot to hit the center of the pocket. IDK. I can do it, he should be able to as well.
Second, Just a fun thought, using a video of this type it is impossible to verify that he always had one foot on the ground. Just Sayin,
Third at about 10:00 in he missed and he passes on the ball rackers rack and racks them himself for a minute.
On a personal note.
Someone is going to have to explain this greasing the balls to me. I would like to experiment with it.
Not gaffed. That implies trickery.
Clean, yes. That's how pool is today, at least at the highest levels.
626...done and dusted.
...sez the guy with a Gina and a ball cleaner at home
And wait, what am challenged to prove? Your distaste for him?
It is evidenced by your own posts and the first time I recall was 7.18.2013
at the U.S. Open and he is in my face holding his motorcycle helmet and I say, "John I feel the same way." And he responds, "OK, I think you're a dick. You're a no talent, wannabe pool player. You're a fat Mexican who couldn't get laid in prison. I bet $2,000 we can go outside and I'll whip your ass. We can go now. In fact I bet I could ***** slap you right here and you wouldn't do a thing about it."
Somewhere in all that I believe I responded, "I'm not Mexican, John. And if you were to hit me, you're right, I wouldn't do anything but I have a good attorney that would make your life a living hell. I am a wannabe pool player, but could buy you several times over, and I feel sorry for you if pool is the best thing you've got going for you. You're a class act, John. A class act all the way."
Actually it was better, by exactly 100 balls!
Actually, It's what we all do in our pool rooms, play a little straight pool by ourselves, get through a rack or two or three, maybe even a bit more. But that's little league.
At some point, everyone will have to admit John has the official record, and even that has been beat as well. Some are having a bad attitude here...
All the best,
WW
Did you see that 30? Did you see that 30! With any luck at all he would have got that rack and been over 40. After that who knows. Maybe John Schmidt's record would have been in jeopardy. :lmao:
I have a feeling he would’ve ran the same or close to it that day if he’d been on an 8 or 9, wooden rack or anything else, didn’t clean the balls, racked at the foot. Those are just his quirks.
Just like Mosconi had a high run that day and may never have been able to get that high again on any given day but sometimes things just work out. And with so many tries, with john’s skill he was basically guaranteed to do it.
If someone good set their sights on 1000 and keeps at it they will break it eventually, if they start young enough.
Just some thoughts from an optimistic 27 or 31 or some ball runner lol.
Noticed a few things.

Nothing classier than a guy bragging about being able to buy and sell someone.
What's your high run champion?
If he ran 900 is that enough?
