8 and cue ball in jaws of pocket how can i win??

this issue came up when we played last year and my dad had tthis shot the 8 ball and cue ball both in the jaws ,i sed shoot the ball out and hope for a nice 3 rail ,or hit it just right and the 8 will pop out from lets say its on top right to top left corner,wish i knew how to use wei table so i could show u g uys

They both in the jaws of the same pocket? Which I'm also assuming to be a corner pocket? If so a 3 rail isn't going to get you anywhere except maybe to the other side of the table?

Depending on how deep they are in there, if you can get to the "long" corner (diagnol from where your at) you can hit on the short rail with some inside english to come back to where your at.. Or if you can get to the center of the short rail you can just spin it back one rail?

I'm not quite sure what your asking..

If you can't do masse shots, just shoot straight at the 8 with "outside" english and it will double-kiss/double-hit into the pocket. This may or may not be legal depending on what rules you're playing by and what kind of hit you get.
 
mr jewett i think its legal what u sed ,wich is wat i came up with too but it took forever to do it lol and remember cue ball and 8 are is same pocket not across each other,there almost frozen together so if u tap the 8 itll either give ure oppomnent enough room for him to make it or if u dont hit it right u give him ball in hand! p.s. how do i use the wei tanble or how can i activate it??????

In that case, there are about six standard ways to shoot the shot. The one-rail kick is probably the best, but if I know the rails, I like the 3-C shot. Also: the masse, the off-the point, the off-the-point followed by 3-C, the off-the-other-point followed by 3-C, and, of course, the shaft sweep. I think all of these are in Byrne's trick shot book.

i dont even knwo if thats what they are talking about im just wondering cuz that shot is easy when u shoot it into the side of the rail and it straightens out to go pocket the ball i guess its the One rail way i think its called "kick out of jaws of pocket" or somthing its a trickshot . one of the first i learned
 
i tried going into the 8 and it poped out and went in opposite pocket but it took bout 20 shots and its tough on ure stick and it prob wont happen on other tables or u can go up table and bank it but need a lot of spin so either u tap it and it comes out or it goes in pocket and u scratch lol

aim at the tits of the jaw. :)

let it kick of the nose of the jaws, into the black and outwards. its one of the easiest shots to do i think.

dodgeccharger that works but not on all tables but bob sed something bout masse so i went to try it and eureke! masse is the only way to go and that will work on diffrent tables too. on the a.p.a im a 4 so i thought hey i cant do that lol but i tried it and it works great !! just wondering if masse is legal in apa?? thank u guys for great answers ,cant wait till friday to tell my team captain ill bet itl; blow his mind .....
 
I play APA masters and jumps/masse is legal. Regular APA doesn't do masse in regular APA...check you wilh your local league operator..
 
Just a thought ...

I haven't tried this, so I can't say for sure,

BUT, shoot into the pocket, about 1/4 of the 8 ball using a jump shot with inside english (inside throws the 8 in), and have the cue ball hit the back top of the pocket to bounce back out onto the table. (This is a variation of the shot where the ball is real close to side pocket to cut it into the corner and have the cue ball go into the side pocket and out again with a modification because of the 8 being frozen against the cue (having to use inside english in lieu of outside english))
 
I made this very same shot playing 1P. My opponent displayed some steel nerves by rolling the cue ball about 2' and snug into the pocket with the last ball hanging in my pocket. I jacked up for a masse and made the ball. I can make the shot 75% of the time...cold. I'll make it 100% on the second try.

If you try to shoot at the object ball with spin you will surely cause a stand-off about whether it was a foul or not. Just masse it and collect the $$$.
 
Man, Seanjonsean, your writing is hard to read. We had a guy do this to himself in league a couple of years ago on his last ball before the 8. He shot it around the table and the cue ball went right back into the place it had vacated and scratched. Unbelievable.
