ASKING PRICE ADDED 8 veneer McDaniel cue value?

PRICE - $1200 OBO

I have a friend that has a 20 or more years old McDaniel cue. The cue hits Jam Up. It was recently refinished by cuemaker Mike Erwin.

He is short on cash for Christmas and is thinking about selling it.

I am guessing on these measurements:

Overall weight 19.5 to 20 oz
One shaft, original McDaniel
Tip Diameter 13 or more, non Ivory
Has 4 ebony points into birds eye maple
Each point has 8 veneers
There also numerous Ivory inlays. I am not sure of the configuration and location of the inlays. I think the butt has 4 Ivory diamonds with barbells between them. There may be a gun sight in each of the points too.

I will get some pictures and post them when I see him again.

What do the experts think the value of this cue would be?

You need photos. Are the points spliced (sharp tips/veneers) or CNC?
Joe

Need pictures, but I can tell you unless the 8 veneers are each a different color(not 2 black, 2 green, ect.) then the cue is a 4 veneer that used thin veneers that were doubled. I have one of these cues, and the doubled veneers hurts the value as opposed to a early McDaniel with thick veneers.

I will try and get pics up tonight or tomorrow.

The points are definitely spliced, not CNC.

I have a first catalog Tim Scruggs and the McDaniel has similar points.

I do not have the cue right now.
I should be seeing it and photographing it tonight.
I do not think they are double veneers.
I think they are all alternating colors, but not sure right now.

My teammate did not bring the cue last night.
I will see it and photograph it tonight at league.

How much does the difference in veneers change the value of the cue?

are you saying 8 veneers on top of eachother or 4 on one side of the point and 4 on the other side?

I mean 8 veneers, not 4 on each side of the point.
You have the point, which is either ebony or rosewood, and then 8 full veneers.

That is 8 unless they are the double veneers as mentioned earlier in the thread.

$800

In good condition. DACue would know. If it has a ivory joint he might even a interested buyer.
Nick :)

Nice cue.....i've been in and out of BILL'S shop sice the 70's and have not seen one similiar.

In view of the rarity i don't think anyone could put a good "number" (assuming there were no agenda's) on it.

If it were mine and i was selling i'd solicit bids via PM for a week or 3.

GOOD LUCK

Bill started using a logo in the early 90's, and he didn't do very many cues with barbells or veneers. The cue very unusual and most likely a 1 of 1. I agree with Adam, shop this one around, maybe include e-bay to get your best number.

I agree with the uniqueness or the cue.
However, my friend does not shoot as much as he used to and the stick is doing a lot of sitting around.

I am open to any and all reasonable offers via PM.
My friend needs cash for Christmas and is willing to let it go to a good home.

LET THE OFFERS BEGIN AND MAY THEY BE PLENTIFUL.

I am also willing to do escrow, split the fees, since I am new here.
