Depending on the brand/style of table, tightening your rails could have changed the level of the slate. If you loosen the rails, does it read good again?

It reads good than 6 inches away off by one notch, than good and like that all over.is it the cloth, where it hasn`t opened up?

One notch or less from perfect with a starrett is within tolerance imo. Play on it and see what you think.

It plays allright, but it was perfect with a starret.I was just wondering if the cloth might be bunching or thinner till it fully expand,it`s only been a day.

For what it's worth, my installer told me to play on the newly installed cloth for about 18 months and then call him if I had a complaint.

How does the table roll? What model & size starrett do you have? If it is the 199 it is way to accurate.

Seems to play ok,just installed yesterday,it`s a 98 8 inch starret.

Depending on how flat the rails are, installing them can change the level of the slates just to let you know, which is why a lot of times I install the rails before I install the bed cloth, then level the slates under the pressure of the rails installed first...then remove the rails, install the bed cloth, then re-install the rails and the level goes back to what it was before I took the rails off;)

That makes sence,it seems the presure could be forcing it out,but it plays well and nowhere over one notch, will the rails flex back out?Any sugestions as to a fix,Cobra?

Next time you recover the table...install the rails first, then level...otherwise...enjoy playing pool on it until the next time you change the cloth:D

To me,not a pro,I think that the rails are causing the slate to crown, everything was perfect before bolting the rails. Is this possible and can it be reversed?
