A.B.C American Rotation in Chicago

Update

Spoke with John Lavin today and he has offered the players a green fee of only $5. Per player per match. Normal rate for 2 players is $10 an hour and seeing how long a match can go on for I think that this a great deal. We have also settled on Tuesday as the official American Rotation day at Red Shoes.

well, speaking for myself, it's easier to pay by the week seeing that
Monday its straight pool $20 - $50
Tuesday bar league $20 - $50
Wednesday straight pool. $20 - $50
Thursday bar league. $20-$50
Friday night is tournament time usually $40-$50

Ok, gotta ask. why are your fees $20-$50 per night ? And what Friday tourney's you hitting for $50. You know there is a nice little tourney in Joliet for $10 on Friday's with a boat load of good players. Send a message to dogginda9 (Jeff)

Or, is beer included in your expenses ;)

One big question I have is, does it all have to take place in the same room? There's no room in my area, but several social clubs with 9' tables. I think I could get 10 people together, if we're not restricted to one location.

ABC League in Chicago

This is a Joe Tucker question, but I don't think it should make any difference.
There is no pressing need to have play occur at just one location.

The format is extremely flexible.

Hope you get one going.

The social clubs are doable. In reality it only takes 1 table if you scheduled the 5 weekly matches Mon-Fri. We have a 10 player group coming in for this Series 6 that is playing out of a home :)

In the near future we're hoping to have each club go to a Mon-Fri schedule so we can feature every match played at very club and also use them for fantasy billiard contests daily.

Come on RJ, you've seen me in person. You know most of that money goes to bar food. And yes plenty of suds!

ok, ok... just thought, man, gotta be some nice payouts with those kinds of league fee's ;)

Biggest payout is my waistline lol

lol. I love to play, but it's just a HIKE for me. Probably 40 miles one way. But, maybe we can meet up somewhere to play, I'd like to learn this game.

Going to play snooker this weekend in Crystal Lake with a few buddies as ACES Snooker Club. Should be fun, even though I've never played before.

chris's

J-Flo, way to go on getting this started

I would be interested in a league @ Chris's. I'll keep looking at this thread for any further information.

With my limited knowledge of pool and all of it's games, I have to say that this American Rotation has a chance to be "the" game of the future. It has rotation, straight pool and one pocket features all in one game with chance and bad luck mostly removed.

But again that is JMHO.

its definitely a great game. Chris's is probably not going to have a bracket this session. I'm not sure if you've ever been but let's just say it's not the best set of circumstances and conditions to start something new. I'll keep you in mind if something comes up at Chris's

It just hit me, Chicago? 15 Ball Rotation? Chicago :) I can be a lil slow at times.
Lets find that one old timer in the Chicago area that grew up playing rotation and gettem back in the box.

There all playing One Pocket!
But we'll do ok.

I wish I was!
I'm having a good time.
Been thinking about another Chicago AZer get together.
Anyone interested?

I had a great time at the last one and would love to do it again. If its at a time that I can make, I will be there.

American rotation practice

John Lavin, owner of RedShoes is having a practice session for our up comming American rotation bracket. From 6:30 to 8:30 we will be having practice games and rule book handouts. All for only a $5 greenfee per person. If anyone has interest in the game this would be a great time to try the game out. No obligation to joining the league.

AZ get together will be comming soon. It will be at Pyramid. Need dates , and black out dates? Let me know. I will start another post soon.
