A confession regarding The Hustlers.

I just watch it online, I'm sure they can track that as easily as anything else.
My son actually wants to make the show "our" show to watch like him and his mother watch Walking Dead every week LOL.

I wonder if the TV people footed the 1k bill for Amy's cues, no way would anyone dump 1k on cues for a new player unless they had money coming out the ears.

No kidding. And when she wanted to add a break cue to the quiver, and miscued upon the first try. I'd have said, save your money, go take some lessons, spend money on table time. Remember this, and come back to me and spend money with an honest cue seller like myself! :)

-just wandering if any of the AZB community are part of the Nielsen TV rating group had a friend that was but not any more. by the way I

Not sure how truthful those bio's are

Unlike his partner Finnegan, Gary has only been playing pool for three years.

However we have this from three years ago:

I just watched it and his play is pretty weak. He looks like a much better player now. The way he was trying to get the balls off the table in that video shows his level of play back then. He may only have played pool with any seriousness the last few years so the statement may be fairly honest.

I'll just say the cues weren't paid for from their pocket. That's about all I'll say on that one.

i find all the trash talk fascinating and entertaining, but we all know that doesn't happen during real "big money" matches. This is TV, so people need to calm down about how unrealistic it is. I played for $500 this weekend and you could have heard a pin drop. And it still would have been that quiet had Finnegan been there (maybe).

I played a match with Jen, not at Steinway but at my home room. No one from Steinway was there, other than Greg. We tried to talk it up some for the sake of the cameras, but it was nothing compared to what I have seen so far. I am actually wondering if they will air it. If they do, I just hope they edit it well and don't show all the balls i hit into the rails. I've played a number of times for multiple thousands, but those cameras were a whole new type of pressure.

Thanks! It's too bad they didn't mention his snooker experience.

Adding that in could have helped, you should see the mouths gape when people see the 12' snooker table that's in the room I play in. I see people come in that have never played on a 9 footer and then they see not only those tables but this monster snooker table LOL Would have been nice to at least say something about what snooker is, it's like pool but played on a larger table with smaller pockets or something easy to get for non-players.

Just caught episode 3 & 4 on amazon. Huge improvement over the first two. A little character development goes a long way...

Depends on the viewers. Production company is pulling for as many seasons as possible. We need more and more viewers each week. Right now that is the only thing that will get a season 2.

How or where can I watch this? I dont have cable up here.

Hi Mikeyfrost,

Love the show so far. Have see thru episode 4 via Amazon.
So how are the ratings looking so far? anything you can share?
I'm curious to know if the views have increased any since the 1st 2nd episodes.

Take care,
Abe

Itunes, Amazon, and the TruTV app all have the episodes. They are also on youtube as well for purchase. I believe they are around $1.50 an episode and a little cheaper for the season pass. Also if you look through this forum there are several other ways that I can't endorse but they do in fact work! Do a search.

Steady increase and that's what counts right now. Keep telling people and the more the better shot. This week's episode is going to be incredible between the expanding of the list and Finny vs Scotty broom battle. It will be a good time. Already a couple teasers on the TruTV site in the clips section.

Mikey, are you on the list? Are you moving up?

I can't tell you that, you have to watch and see how it all shakes out!!! One thing for sure there is some good playing and good drama on the way. Here's a taste, put a little hustle in to it.

I would like to say you are a very good representative of the show. You have never gotten defensive and as we all get used to the show I hope you stay around to answer questions and be our contact to the show.

I just wanted to say that because I know it may not be easy to read some of what we have written and still stay grounded in your message. Keep up the good work they are lucky to have you.
Thanks

Thank you for sharing.

In case you and Emily want to act something out. Perhaps pay homage to this scene from the Color of Money with Forest Whitaker and Paul Newman.

Thanks MacGuy, I look at these forums way different than some. I been coming here for a long time. Aside from the table time and real life experience, this is where nearly all of my pool knowledge comes from. I couldn't form a sentence that would justify how I feel about AZ. This is near my once chance to be able to give something back and I definitely want to do that in a real way. Not some over promotional insincere kind of way. I want to answer the people as best I can and get you all to feel like a part of the show. Not worried about some ratings or being fake nice, just want to support the community that has always supported me. That's the truth.

How awesome would that have been though! Missed that golden opportunity to hit her with that line. Maybe next time. We weren't acting though, I never missed a shot that set that I didn't want to. That little seen right there has a lot of repercussions down the road though, I will tell you that.

I haven't played in a while, but this show is inspiring me to get back to it. I might even join league again.

Mikey, I'm happy for you and the rest of the NYC players who are involved with this show. I know through AZ that many of you have been dedicated to pool for a long time, and that you represent pool well. All the best with this fantastic opportunity!

I agree 100%. I think having Mikey on here taking the fire and answering questions really adds to the enjoyment of watching the show:smile:

I have a question, do you have any merchandizing yet? I want a tee shirt I will buy several and ware it every day to promote the show. If they are not doing it yet it would not take long to get them out.

There are tee shirt people right here on this forum I am sure would be happy to do them.
