A cue to keep in the car?

Any suggestions on what kind of cue to buy for keeping in my car? I live in Honolulu, HI so I don't have to worry about the cold, only the heat.

I am looking for something that won't warp, and is cheap but still has at least a halfway decent hit to it. I want to be able to go shoot after work without having to stop at home first.

Brand or model would be really helpful. I have seen where people were talking about using a WalMart cue as a car cue but what type/brand?

Thanks

Nathan

i guess a Cuetec they are wrapped,BUT with that heat you may have a problem with anything..your better off using a house cue i would think..

fury s/p 80 bucks plays good too.

I would suggest a house cue. Regardless of cost, a cue left in the trunk of a car is gonna warp.....just a matter of time, really.

That said, and while I'd never do it myself, a buddy of mine bought a low-end Viking cue, and has kept it in his car for about a year and a half. Seemed to work for him just fine.

I used to have a Viking...and it seemed bulletproof to me...but I didn't tempt fate by sticking it in the trunk, either. I didn't like the hit much, but for 85 bucks, it was a pretty good deal.

Pick one up off of e-bay for less than 100, and fire away.

Unless the cue warps badly in the area where your bridge hand touches the shaft, warping shouldn't effect playability any. I keep a cheap sneaky in the car here in Az where the summers are into the 120's. The first one I had warped pretty badly the first summer, but the next one hardly has a warp at all and it's been through 3 summers. I would just try a cheap sneaky that has a good feel, and if it warps badly, go get another one. If you don't mind the way they hit, you could also do as suggested above and get a fiberglass cue.

I had the same problem, So I bought a players cue.
Something cheap, something I'd throw away if it warped.
Or you could buy a cheapo graphite cue from wally-world?

This is how I bought a Meucci Gambler.
The guy had kept it in his truck, The shaft warped and he
gambled away it to a friend.
I spotted him 60 bucks and it was mine:) .

Find a good old dufferin, they will stay straight through a nuclear attack. I have shot with my brothers car cue, many times over the years, (he lives in pheonix) it is straighter than most of my cues.

OLD U.S. MADE ONLY!!

cue tec

they have a life time guarantee and with the fiberglass wrapped wood core shaft they will never warp. the hit is a little different so it might take some getting used to

I'd tell you, but you don't have enough posts....

just kidding.

Contrary to popular belief, I've had a Cuetec that warped. And it was indoors.

Someone ought to pony up and do a year long experiment with, say, a $100 sneaky pete or something and leave it in their car year round. Report the warpage here.

I agree. A test cue would be good.

How about this one??? : http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=47009

I know a very well-respected player who keeps a Cuetec in his car for emergencies. I have another friend who does the same, but it is as worthless in his hands as in the trunk of his car...Morris, you there?

go with one of those cheapie graphites. its gunna hit like junk but better than a warped house cue imo

definitly mcdermott you cant go wrong with their guarantee. i think the only thing thats not going to warp is graphite and id much rather play with a house cue.

jayman when were dufferins made in the usa? thought they were made in canada.

Get a cue made out of "DIAMONDWOOD".

I have not seen one warp to date.

Let me know if you want contact info for a potential source.

Actually, I would reccomend one of the present day Palmers I offer. I can not guarantee they stay straight, but the one on the wall in my buddies garage still is. I have had no complaints from the many I have sold.

I also reccomend you get a good foam core case and keep it wrapped in a towel.

Ribdoner, You mean like this? They are not cheap.
My Dymonwood is not for sale.
