1. I don’t like Diamonds — they bank differently, they hang up more balls than other tables and to me they have no real style.

I love the complaint they hang up more balls frequently as not liking diamonds 😂 I had that problem to when I got mine..so I worked on my stroke and leveled up. thank you diamond. every table banks differently and style is different to everyone so that’s neither her nor there.

other then that the other reasons for wanting to buy an ae shmidt are legit.

A lot of people . They buy a table like this for their basement thinking they will play 5 years or more goes by and the novelty wears off and they want their basement back so they try to sell it and realize it isn’t worth shit on the open market.
 
There was a pool hall in Little Rock called Slick Willy's, which was packed full of AE Schmidt tables. Next door was a restaurant named Busters, you might guess what chain the owners of Slick Willy's and Busters went on later to start... The student union at UALR was also full of them. The Slick Willy's tables were more of the furniture grade with leather mesh drop pockets, the tables at UALR had the plastic drop pockets. Loved the sound of balls hitting the back of those pockets back in those days...

They are awesome tables, banked true, never experienced any issues with them.

I think in the 30s, you could likely buy two nice older houses in a small midwest town for $9500, or maybe build a new ranch-style home with basement on a multi-acre suburban lot (?). A pack of cigarettes that sells for > $10 today, probably cost less than 10 cents back then. Though sin taxes are involved in that multiple, increasing urban real estate taxes make estimating the cost of home ownership another complex issue.
