If you are interested in the history of pool & billiards, Charlie Ursitti's Complete History of Pool & Billiards is a must. Some sections are unfinished, but there are full-text versions of some old books, and extensive histories.

Bob...Mr. Ursitti has one of the largest historical cuesports-related collections out there. He has spent literally YEARS getting this stuff put up online. What a treasure for all of us! Thanks Charlie! :grin:

Charles (and Deno) are doing a fantastic job.
Funny thing is, some people kinda shrug it off and think " yeah whatever...boring old history "...but here is something to think about:
What if you had spent the better part of your life as a professional billiard and or pool player and had travelled the world, won numerous titles, set new records and won millions of dollars....
....but nobody kept any record of what you did.
Charles is not only physically preserving history, he is also preserving the very integrity of countless professional billiard players from around the world.

Thanks for the link. I had never seen this site before. It is full of great tournament statistical data, which is needed in pool, as there's not a good deal out there, other than print pool media and word of mouth.

Mr. Bond...All true, with the exception of the "millions of dollars" part! If only...:grin: Greenleaf made the most money from pool (even in today's dollars), and he never made millions. He did, however, command $2000/week at the height of the Depression...which would seem like millions to most everybody! This, of course, doesn't take the English snooker players into consideration, as several of them have made millions of dollars.
