When posting on a thread take a close look at the age of the thread. Here lately it seems a lot of new members(WELCOME to AZB btw) are posting on threads that are anywhere from four to 10+yrs old. Granted some MAY have some still pertinent info but most are WELL past their 'sell by' date.

Do not be so picky.

Seldom that the Cigar Czar and I disagree to a significant degree but I have to say I like most of the old threads that get bumped. A few with outdated technical information need to stay dead and some that were not important but were very heated should stay dead too.

A lot of old threads seem like stumbling across a note or letter from an old friend though and are always great to read over one more time. They can be like favorite passages in a book too like the whole hall getting skinned at the bowling alley or Scotty jumping off of the HueyP. I am always ready to read about Smorg playing for the fellow's "Bob" every year or two also, including the replies.

Would you rather...
Would you rather jump off a trampoline onto a bike with no seat or take a bite out of a bowl of cornflakes and find out your grandmother’s scab collection has gone missing?

Would you rather a new member uses the search function and revives an old thread or answer the same question every 6 weeks?

It's on me when I open a resuscitation and don't notice the birthday. So "get off my lawn!" 😉
Heck I didn't even check the birthday of this thread.🤷

With some exceptions most info regarding playing pool hasn't changed in many years so all that info from the past is pertinent today. The same can be said regarding lots of the people that joined years ago many of which are gone. Personally I think it's perfectly fine to read and see the older posts. Do not avoid the past Newbies there are lots of great comments and info there.

Our past members and posts are what led us to where we are and what you see today...

My experience with the web is occasionally a search brings up a page on AZ which is old. Click on that link and you are on a old thread. Respond to that thread and....it is 2009 all over again😉

Newbies on the forum are very excited to be here.
A new world is opening up for them.
Many are players just getting back in the game and have a passion for knowledge so they comb the site.
I also like the older threads re appearing.
All I got out of my trip was a great dinner with you, a Showman/Carpenter and a Breitling :) great seeing you again!!! Proof that 2 people with completely different beliefs can be friends. I'd recommend the rest of you try it. Philly has been a great friend for 5+ years with a heart of gold.

Thanks bud, I enjoyed it too.
Next time we have to get some table time in.
Your collection of cues is rather eclectic!
Stay in touch.
