a meeting place at valley forge?

this is my first time going to valley forge so i'm not sure what to expect. but with the large number of az members going should we have an "az get-together" somewhere at a designated time and place for a meet and greet (and drink)? i was thinking friday night or saturday afternoon. i'll let the more experienced attendees chime in with their thoughts.

Great idea, I am a first timer as well. I think Sat. afternoon would work best for me, but who the hell am I? Can't wait to go. I'm looking forward to a few well deserved days off, some great pool and meeting some new friends!

there is a bar right in the Hotel thats always full of Pros. Last year we had lunch with Mika, John Schmidt was there, Allen Hopkins, Tony Chohan etc....

I'm up for meeting everyone! I'll be there with my wife.

meeting at Valley Forge

I would also like to meet some fellow AZ posters. I will be at the Diamond Billiard Products Booth. Please stop by to introduce yourself. There will several other AZ'ers there; Me (Mark Griffin), Greg Sullivan, Sunnydayu wil be there a little. SpiderWeb has been known to show up as has Wei (Cue Table).

I will be around the booth most of the time, however, this year I am gonna play in the open amatuer event. I also have a lot of people to say "hi" to - so it will be hit or miss at the Diamond Booth.

Hope to be able to put a fewe more names and faces together.

I am planning wear a sticky tag on my shirt that identifies me as an AZ member. It will be nice to attach faces to the names here.
 
The pics a little old, but I look something like this. The beard continues up the jaw and everything is greyer. Say hi if you see me. If I've irritated you at sometime just walk by, I'm getting old and don't take a punch like I used to. :rolleyes: :)

I'll be there as well and want to say hi. Picking a time for a get together might be tough. Lots of people competing in the events. I would sure try to come by wherever gets picked , if y'all pick a place and time. I will be there Thurs-Sun :)

Our very own NJHUSTLER1 is going to be running the POOLTEES booth on the lower level all weekend. (Booth # 90, if I recall?). Since there is no "OFFICIAL" meeting place, he has offered that we could all stop there and identify ourselves to him as AZ members. I plan on stopping by and at least saying Hi to him while I'm there, and I'm sure if we all do that we can't avoid meeting at least a few of each other.

I'd like to go but I'm allergic to snow. :)

Kind of on a side note. I understand you were involved in trying to start a similar event in LA (the one the accu-stats 8-ball round robin was at). It really mystifies me why it didn't work in a market like LA. Have you any insight that might explain why it didn't continue.

Actually, there are two different bars where you may run into anyone at any time, Chumbley's in the lobby of the Radisson and the Blue Grotto in the Scanticon.

A couple of years back, a bunch of us AZ'ers met up on Saturday night in Chumbley's and had a nice evening getting to know one another.

Hey Don,

I'll be heading to Valley Forge after work this evening, hope to see you and Sue on Saturday, Abbassi wanted me to say hello to you for him when I see you, so just in case we don't run into each other on Saturday I'm saying hello now, ha ha!
