If the 9ball moves no ball needs to touch a rail. This allows a player with good ball control to set themself up for a winning shot. It can be a very teachable moment for less experienced players as they learn to align the balls and not over run their shot. Like 1pocket, you can see players thinking every shot. It's fun!
I teach this game every where I go. From the newest banger to old salts they find the game easy to understand, challenging and most important fun. People really do come up and shake my hand and thank me for introducing the game to them. I came to this site expecting to be slammed as I am a banger myself and I know this forum is full of serious players. This thread illustrates how fair, honest and blunt a forum can be.
The original poster is getting great feedback and I hope he takes it to heart. Thinking he can sell three levels of balls for a game is nuts. It is not Pokémon card money he is talking about. I spent $2500 of my own money having Amarith make 250 promotional balls. I hate to think the cost of having an entire sets made. No wonder he wants he wants go fund me money. I'm trying to introduce a new game for free and it is a hard sell. Most Americans never get past 8ball. From my perspective the last thing people want is a new game. An old man told me he has not perfected the games he already has and wants nothing to do with something new. If I did not believe Texas One Shot offered something truly new and original to the sport plus is extremely fun I would of given up a long time ago. In the mean time I will wear my Phat Rack Lover shirt and enjoy all the smiles I get.
If you make anything other than the 9 there is no penalty or reward. The ball stays in the pot. If you make the last object ball without moving the 9 it is pretty much a loss unless you are playing a drunk banger who scratches after moving the 9ball 3 or 4 times. Most games end in an early 9 and it is celebrated instead of being frowned upon. It can be a good teaching game in terms of ball control because the obsession with making a ball every shot is removed. And if you pot a ball, but don't move the 9?
